Heat G Dwyane Wade (ankle) to sit vs. Pistons
Dwyane Wade will get the night off.
Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters that his All-Star guard would not play in a Sunday night home game against the Detroit Pistons due to an ankle injury.
The Sun-Sentinel reports that Spoelstra believed Wade suffered the injury, which is not believed to be serious, while attempting a dunk attempt a Friday night loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Miami currently holds a record of 39-15 with 12 games to play and is fairly well locked in to the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, 2.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls and 6 games up on the Indiana Pacers.
Wade, 30, is averaging 22.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.3 blocks in 33.4 minutes per game this season. He has appeared in 44 of Miami's 54 games this season.
Miami next hosts the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night before travelling to Chicago to face the Bulls on Thursday.
