Beneath the ugliness of Derrick Rose's civil rape trial, and the constant questions about the future and direction of a Knicks roster seemingly thrown together randomly, there's a lot of optimism about what Kristaps Porzingis can do this season.

The man known as 3-6-Latvia often has pretty quiet goals, talking about wanting to help the team win and just do his job -- he's been trained well-- but on Friday, he did reveal one statistical goal he wants to hit this season. From the New York Daily News:

But he did reveal a somewhat unique aspiration as it pertains to statistics: a quadruple-double.

"It's been a while (since somebody did it)," Porzingis said following Friday's practice. "It's not impossible. That's the goal right there."

It's been 22 years, to be exact. Four players -- Nate Thurmond, Alvin Robertson, Hakeem Olajuwon, and David Robinson -- have pulled off the 4X2, with Robinson the last in 1994. It's tough to do. It would also take an astronomical jump for KP.

Porzingis only had 21 double-doubles last season, and his highest assist total was four. He did have a double-double with seven blocks vs. the Rockets, he'd need to have everything come together absolutely perfectly and play at a skyrocket pace to have a chance for that kind of production. You'd have to think someone like Karl-Anthony Towns or Kawhi Leonard might have a better chance at that mark.

Still, it's good to have goals, and clearly Porzingis thinks he's capable of adding his name to a list of incredible players to pull off the quad-double.
