The Sacramento Kings are transitioning their roster, having brought in Matt Barnes and value deals like Garrett Temple and Anthony Tolliver. After some draft night talk suggested that Rudy Gay might be on the market, ESPN now reports that the Kings are actively trying to move the veteran combo forward.

Marc Stein also reports that Kosta Koufos and Ben McLemore are on the market. McLemore has been widely available for more than a year according to multiple reports.

Gay provides a veteran scorer and rebounder who has an early termination option to enter free agency next summer he will almost assuredly activate, making him a free agent. Koufos is on a steal of a contract at $8.5 million per season for the next two years, and provides a veteran rim protector who can score and play long minutes.

McLemore retains upside and potential despite a disappointing turn in Sacramento.

Gay shot 34 percent from deep last season, as he's transitioned to more of a stretch four. That makes his value much higher for the modern NBA considering his strength and versatility, even with relative inefficiency. He averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds last season for Sacramento.
