Wizards' Jason Smith: Signs three-year deal with Wizards
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Smith agreed to a three-year, $16 million deal with the Wizards Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.

Smith has been a steady frontcourt rotation player for pretty much his entire eight-year NBA career, averaging 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds over 17.4 minutes per game. He'll join a fairly crowded frontcourt, where he will likely be behind Marcin Gortat, Ian Mahinmi, Markieff Morris and Andrew Nicholson for minutes at both power forward and center. Overall, Smith's impact with Washington this season will likely be limited barring any major injuries up front.

Magic's Jason Smith: Plays just three minutes Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jason Smith missed his lone field-goal attempt in three minutes of action during the Orlando Magic 's 119-107 win versus the Grizzlies on Sunday.

Smith committed three fouls in three minutes while seeing single-digit minutes for the second time in the last three games. Smith averaged 18 minutes per game in March, which is his most of any month in 2015-16, but Andrew Nicholson has been getting more burn lately. Furthermore, Nikola Vucevic is finally looking fully healthy, and Smith should be avoided in most fantasy formats.

Magic's Jason Smith: Comes off bench to score 25 in win over Denver
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jason Smith scored 25 points (10-15 FG, 5-6 FT) to go with 13 rebounds and an assist over 28 minutes in a 116-110 victory over the Nuggets on Tuesday.

Smith's 25 points are a new season-high, as the 30-year-old took advantage of a dismal Denver defensive unit; the Orlando Magic shot 54.3 percent from the field on the night. Despite prolonged stretches of limited court time this season, Smith has impressed lately -- now averaging 14 points with five boards and a block over his last five games.

Magic's Jason Smith: Pitches in 16 points off bench in Friday victory
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jason Smith pitched in with 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds, an assist, three blocks and two steals over 23 minutes in Friday's 107-100 victory over the Kings.

Moved to the bench in favor of Dewayne Dedmon on Friday, Smith responded with perhaps his best all-around effort of the season. He seemed determined to make the most of his time on the court, remaining highly aggressive on both ends of the floor. The eight-year veteran amassed five personals in his 23-minute stint, but also attacked the basket frequently. With Nikola Vucevic's groin strain potentially lingering and Smith having now posted three straight double-digit scoring efforts, the latter makes for a highly speculative late-season option in deep season-long formats and daily leagues.

Magic's Jason Smith: Returns to reserve role Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jason Smith will come off the bench in Friday's matchup with the Kings.

Smith had started the previous two games for the Orlando Magic with Nikola Vucevic out due to injury. The Magic have opted to go with Dewayne Dedom Friday instead, thus resulting in Smith playing a reserve role. Expect Smith's minutes to dip back in the teens as opposed to the mid-twenties he had been seeing recently. It is unclear of the Magic will continue going this route with Vucevic out or not.
