Vucevic still put together a solid outing, but couldn't come close to replicating the 30-point, 10-rebound explosion he'd managed in a much more favorable matchup against Mason Plumlee and the Blazers on Friday night. However, the six-year veteran was still effective enough to post his fourth straight double-digit scoring effort and enjoy a respectable night on the boards despite often tangling with Rudy Gobert down low. Following Saturday's production, Vucevic is now averaging 16.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.1 steals in eight January games, and his recent reinsertion into the first unit should continue rendering him a valuable fantasy commodity in all formats.
Vucevic scored 30 points (13-18 FG, 4-4 FT) and added 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal in 31 minutes during a 115-109 win over Portland on Friday.
Friday was Vucevic's best game since taking over Bismack Biyombo's starting role. He carved up Portland with his size and shooting, and stayed away from the ill-advised three pointers he's been jacking up this season. Vucevic has now recorded a double-double in five of his last seven games, and should be owned in most fantasy leagues. His DFS value is also skyrocketing right now, as he siphons more and more minutes away from Biyombo.
Vucevic will remain in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Vucevic went for 16 points and 12 rebounds while serving as the starter Wednesday against the Clippers, and while the Magic lost by double-digits, apparently coach Frank Vogel saw something he liked. Vogel told the media Thursday that he'll go forth with Vucevic at center, employing smaller lineups around him more often. As a result, Bismack Biyombo figures to see a reduced role, as was the case Wednesday, when he played 16 minutes, tied for his lowest total of the season.
Vucevic was already playing minutes more akin to a starting role, even when he was coming off the bench prior to Wednesday's game, so his production didn't move much. He has now recorded at least 14 points in three of his last five games, and has also pulled in 12-plus rebounds in three of his last five games. Whether he starts or not, his minutes have stabilized around the 25-30 mark.
Vucevic will start at center in Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Vucevic has played well off the bench of late, averaging 14.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.0 steal over 29.2 minutes so far in January. He'll enter the starting lineup Wednesday, with Bismack Biyombo moving to the bench, although Vucevic was already seeing the majority of the minutes at center, so it shouldn't impact his fantasy value too much.
