Cedrick Desjardins might not be on the New York Rangers' roster to start this season, but the American Hockey League-bound goaltender made quite the effort to endear himself to the Manhattan faithful with his spectacular goalie mask.

Desjardins, a journeyman goaltender who has spent most of his career in the minors, prominently features the logos of both the Rangers and the Hartford Wolf Pack, but this mask is decidedly New York-centric.

The mask, which was designed by David Leroux of Diel Airbrush, prominently features a pair of New York icons –- recently retired Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and "Ol’ Blue Eyes" himself, Frank Sinatra, who isn't from New York, but perhaps you've heard the tune "New York, New York."

At least if Desjardins earns himself a call-up at any point this year, he’s absolutely going to look the part standing between the pipes at Madison Square Garden.

There are more photos and video of this lid on Diel Arbrush's Instagram page.

Desjardins, who signed a two-year deal with the Rangers in the offseason, cleared waivers Monday and is set to join the Wolf Pack. He has appeared in six NHL games over his career, all with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
