Remember that Speed Dating with Bruins heartthrob Tyler Seguin promotion that the Lowell Spinners baseball team was putting on? Well it happened, and it almost changed Seguin's life ... and that's not a dating joke.
While sitting right next to the field down the left field line, Seguin was doing exactly what the promotion said he would ... having chats with some lucky young girls. That's when a foul ball came screaming down the line right for the back of his head faster than a Raffi Torres elbow.
Enter the cell phone of Spinners Vice President Dan Beaulieu for the heroic rescue.
Talk about getting a guy's back. That could have been really bad for Seguin and the Bruins. You can see in that video the ball is on a collision course for Seguin's head and he has no clue it's coming, a true blind-side hit.
But there was speed dating as advertised, too. That and screaming girls wearing Bruins jerseys to see Boston's big eligible bachelor.
My favorite part? The father of one of the girls introducing himself to Seguin as his daughter takes a seat next to the Bruins heartthrob. It was a perfectly Prom Night Pickup moment.
