  • Bob Sanguinetti: Returning to Europe

Sanguinetti signed a one-year contract with DEL club Red Bull Munchen on Monday.

Sanguinetti made his return to North America last season by helping AHL Charlotte win the Calder Cup, but will head back to Europe for the upcoming season. This likely marks the end of any hope the 31-year-old has of returning to the NHL, where he played in 45 games for New York and Carolina.

  • Bob Sanguinetti: Inks deal with Swiss club

Sanguinetti signed a one-year contract with EHC Kloten of Switzerland on Friday.

Despite getting selected 21st overall by the Rangers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Sanguinetti has failed to garner a consistent role with an NHL team, though he gave it the proverbial college try. The big defenseman only produced six points in 45 career games between the Rangers and Hurricanes. However, he signed on with the Canucks, providing 16 goals and 24 helpers with AHL Utica in the 2014-15 campaign. Buffalo secured his services last July, but he ultimately was waived. This won't be Sanguinetti's first tour overseas, as he had a stint with Moscow Oblast Atlant of the KHL three years ago. Given his journeyman status, it wouldn't be surprising to see Sanguinetti back in the NHL sometime down the road.
