  • Jets' Matt Halischuk: Will play Sunday

Halischuk (illness) will actually play in Sunday's game against the Ducks, Kirk Penton of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

An earlier report indicated he would likely be replaced in Sunday's lineup due to an illness following the emergency recall of Chase De Leo, but it will actually be Marko Dano (undisclosed) who will miss the contest. Still, the winger hasn't tallied a point in 22 games this season and averages just 8:46 of ice time, so he shouldn't be in fantasy consideration.

  • Jets' Matt Halischuk: Could miss Sunday

Halischuk is dealing with an illness that will likely cost him Sunday's game against the Ducks, Kirk Penton of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Even when healthy, Halischuk provides little to get excited about in fantasy. Assuming he skips out Sunday, the Jets have recalled Chase De Leo on emergency conditions to take his place. Expect another update on his status when he returns to the lineup.

  • Jets' Matt Halischuk: Promoted to parent club

Halischuk was called up from AHL Manitoba on Thursday.

Halischuk was summoned to the parent club in the wake of news that Bryan Little (head) is out for the season. It'll be interesting to see how long the recall lasts for Halischuk, as he's 27 years old and has yet to earn a full-time role with the Jets. At any rate, he's an attractive call-up based on his ability to play on either the left or right wing.

Halischuck was reassigned to AHL Manitoba on Tuesday.

Halischuck played 13 games with the Jets since being called up Dec. 17 and did not record a point. The 27-year-old winger was likely sent to Manitoba to make room on the roster for forwards Adam Lowry and Mathieu Perreault who were both activated from the injured reserve list Tuesday. It is unclear when or if Halischuk will be called back up again.

  • Jets' Matt Halischuk: Set to be waived by Jets

Halischuk will be waived by the Jets, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

The Jets host the Stars on Tuesday and need room on the roster with Adam Lowry (upper body) and Mathieu Perrault (lower body) returning to action. Halischuk is the odd man out of that equation as he's failed to nail down more than a part-time role since joining the league in 2008-09.

  • Jets' Matt Halischuk: Recalled by Jets

Halischuk was recalled by the Jets on Wednesday.

Hahlischuk will provide the Jets with some forward depth following the placement of Mark Scheifele on injured reserve Wednesday. Coincidentally, he was sent back to AHL Manitoba earlier in January due to the activation of Scheifele off IR, but will now rejoin the parent club. Regardless, the winger is a speculative play on a daily basis, and averaged just 7:34 of ice time over the seven games he's drawn in with the Jets this season.

  • Jets' Matt Halischuk: Reassigned Sunday

Halischuk was reassigned to AHL Manitoba on Sunday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Halischuk's demotion coincides with Mark Scheifele's activation from injured reserve, meaning Scheifele will likely return to the lineup Sunday against Anaheim. Halischuk failed to make an impact during his six games with the Jets, failing to score a point while registering a minus-1 rating. Former first-round pick Joel Armia has seemingly jumped over Halischuk in the Jets' organizational depth chart.

  • Jets' Matt Halischuk: Recalled by AHL Manitoba

Halischuk was recalled by the Manitoba Moose of the AHL on Thursday.

Halischuk is an NHL veteran, playing 250 career games, with 93 of those coming with the Jets from 2013-15. The gritty winger scored 15 goals with Nashville in 2011-12, but his production has tailed off in recent seasons, failing to score more than five goals in a season since then. Halischuk will likely skate on the Jets' fourth line until Adam Lowry is recalled from Manitoba.

  • Jets Re-Sign Halischuk

Halischuk re-signed Wednesday with the Jets on a one-year, two-way contract, Sara Orlesky of TSN reports. The deal is worth $750,000 at the NHL level.Halischuk only produced three goals and eight points in 47 games last season while averaging less than 10 minutes of ice time per contest in a bottom-six role. Coach Paul Maurice likes Halischuk's ability to play both left and right wing, but that versatility isn't likely to translate into an notable offensive production this coming season.
