David Jones: Released by Ducks
Jones was released by the Ducks on Monday, Dhiren Mahiban of the New York Times reports.
Jones was unable to impress the Ducks' coaching staff after being signed by the team to a professional tryout agreement in September. He'll head back to the open free agent market following his release and could find some potential suitors looking for additional help on the wing.

Ducks' David Jones: Signs PTO
Jones signed a professional tryout agreement with Anaheim for training camp, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Jones logged a total of 75 contests between Calgary and Minnesota last year in which he tallied 11 goals and seven assists along with 10 PIM. Given his minimal production, especially compared to his 30-point 2014-15 season. The Ducks seem to be set on the right side, but if he is willing to switch to the left side, it's possible Jones secures himself a permanent deal.

Wild's David Jones: Ready to rock Friday
Jones (illness) is ready to play Friday night against the Red Wings, Kent Youngblood of the Star Tribune reports.
Jones missed the past two games due to an illness, but he'll return to the ice and reprise his role as a bottom-six forward Friday. His presence is important to the Wild, who are trying to lock down a playoff spot, but the activation likely won't cause many to blink in the fantasy realm as Jones has just 18 points in 78 games this campaign.

Wild's David Jones: Out Tuesday
Jones (illness) won't suit up for Tuesday's game against the Blackhawks, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Fantasy owners' shouldn't need to keep tabs on Jones' availability, as the veteran winger has only notched 18 points in 71 games this season, leaving him off the radar in the vast majority of fantasy leagues. Jason Zucker, who has been a healthy scratch for four of the Wild's last eight games, will slot into the lineup Tuesday against Chicago in Jones' absence.

Jones scored his 11th goal of the season, and second with the Wild, in Saturday's win over Carolina.
Jones has increased his scoring output slightly with the Wild with three points in eight games after 15 points in 59 games with Calgary. He's had 14 or more minutes of ice time the past two games, so he may gaining the confidence of the coaching staff.

Wild's David Jones: Scores first with new team
Jones notched a goal -- the first with his new squad -- and just 7:20 of ice time in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win against Buffalo.
Jones was on ice for 12:30 in his debut with Minnesota, so the drop-off in usage is concerning, although it is just two outings. The 31-year-old winger last found twine on Feb. 17, a span of six games without recording points. Jones' minutes may fluctuate as he gets more comfortable with the new scenery, but it doesn't look like there will be a noteworthy increase from the 12:47 of ice time he saw with Calgary this year.

Jones (personal) will debut with the Wild on Thursday.
Jones missed out on Tuesday's game against the Avalanche due to some visa issues, but it appears those are now behind him. It seems unlikely he will be a member of the team's top-six forwards, as the veteran winger averaged just 12:47 of ice time with Calgary, and the Wild have similar depth in the forward ranks. Jones can safely be avoided in most fantasy formats, but he does provide a bit of a boost in leagues that count hits (115 this season).

Jones was dealt from the Flames to the Wild just before the trade deadline Monday, but it appears as though the Canadian won't be able to get everything sorted out in time to make his debut with his new club Tuesday. It appears to be a minor issue, though, so the winger could be cleared to play in time for Thursday's tilt against the Maple Leafs.

Wild's David Jones: Traded to Wild
Jones was acquired by the Wild from Calgary on Monday for Niklas Backstrom and a sixth-round pick in the 2016 draft.
Jones tallied nine goals and six assists in 59 contests with Calgary this season prior to the trade. The 31-year-old winger has totaled 188 points in 446 games played with Calgary and Colorado over the course of his career. It is unclear how big of a role he will have with Minnesota at this point, but it seems likely the veteran Jones will push for playing time on one of Minnesota's forward lines.

Jones had missed the previous two games, but appeared no worse for the wear Wednesday. He has never been a fantasy dynamo, but seems to be even less of an offensive factor this season, racking up only 65 shots and 15 points in 54 games.

After skipping out on the previous two contests due to the lower-body issue, Jones will make his return to the lineup Wednesday. Even so, the veteran doesn't really possess the offensive skills he once did. He's expected to serve as the right wing on the Flames' fourth line for the contest against the Wild, but remains a non-factor in season-long fantasy leagues.

Jones will actually miss Monday's game against the Ducks because of a lower-body injury.
Once a formidable forward, Jones' offensive impact isn't nearly as much as in past seasons. To account for it, Jones has picked up his physical game, collecting 105 hits through 53 games while still totaling 64 shots on net and 14 points to keep himself useful. The veteran was expected to return to the lineup Monday, but the apparently the issue isn't behind him yet. Instead, he'll now aim to rejoin his teammates Wednesday when the Wild arrive in Calgary.

Flames' David Jones: Hasn't scored in 10 games
Jones is currently mired in a 10-game scoreless streak after not finding the scoresheet in Tuesday's 4-3 victory against Toronto.
Jones put up a decent 30-point season in 2014-15, but has struggled to duplicate that this year. He's also only put seven shots on goal during that 10-game span, evidence that he is really not a factor in Calgary's offense.

Flames' David Jones: Decrease in playing time
Jones played less than 10 minutes in a 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes on Sunday.
Jones usually is up near the 13-minute range in playing time, but saw a lot less of the ice on Sunday. He has skated quite a bit with Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau this season but has not seen an uptick in production, as he is at 14 points in 46 games.
