Chad Kolarik: Announces retirement
Kolarik will hang up his skates and call it a career, Seth Rorabaugh of TribLive.com reports.
Kolarik spent the 2019-20 campaign with Salzburg EC in Austria, for which he registered 20 goals and 23 helpers in 48 outings. After a four-year collegiate career at the University of Michigan, the center made the jump to the professional ranks with AHL San Antonio. Selected by the Coyotes with the 199th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Draft, the 34-year-old veteran appeared in just six NHL games with the Blue Jackets and the Rangers.

Chad Kolarik: Finding success abroad
Kolarik has racked up 56 points in 65 outings over two seasons with the Mannheim Adler of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
Kolarik -- a highly touted collegiate player for the University of Michigan -- never was able to latch on with an NHL club -- appearing in just six league games. After several years in the AHL, the 31-year-old opted to head overseas making stops in Sweden, Russia and Switzerland before finally landing in Germany. While never may be too strong of a word, it would be quite a surprise to see the Pennsylvania native work his way back into the NHL at this point in his career.
