Canucks' Philip Larsen: Taken off IR
Larsen (upper body) is no longer listed on IR, per the NHL's official media site.
It's been 23 games since Larsen sustained that upper-body ailment, and NHL.com projects that he'll sit this next one out, despite being activated. The Canucks will go right back to work Thursday for a contest against the Coyotes in Arizona, so there's still a chance that Larsen factors into a match ahead of the All-Star break. Hopefully No. 63 can stay on the ice for a sustained period of time, as he has the potential to mature into a fine two-way defenseman -- plus, he's averaging 3:07 of power-play ice time this season.

Canucks' Philip Larsen: Placed on IR
Larsen is on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, TSN reports.
Larsen required an overnight stay at a hospital, having been stretchered off the ice in Tuesday's away game against the Devils. The defender is eligible to return Dec. 16 against the Lightning, but time will tell whether he'll be healthy enough to go on that date.

Canucks' Philip Larsen: Spends night in hospital
Larsen (undisclosed) stayed overnight at a hospital after leaving Tuesday's matchup with New Jersey on a stretcher, John Shannon of Sportsnet reports.
Larsen will head back to Vancouver to be further evaluated by team doctors, which effectively rules him out of Thursday's away game against Tampa Bay. Unless the blueliner is able to rejoin the team on its road trip, he could be out of the lineup until at least Dec. 16 at home against the Lightning.

Canucks' Philip Larsen: Exits Tuesday's contest on stretcher
Larsen left Tuesday's game against the Devils on a stretcher and will not return, Dan Murphy of Sportsnet reports.
Larsen was hit hard along the boards by Taylor Hall early in the road contest, leaving him unconscious on the ice; he had to be stretchered off and taken to the hospital. The Canucks will likely release more information on the 26-year-old blueliner's status after he undergoes medical evaluation. Until further notice, his status for Thursday's game against the Lightning is questionable.

Canucks' Philip Larsen: Healthy enough to return
Larsen (illness) will be in the lineup against the Wild on Tuesday.
Larsen has been sidelined for the Canucks' last nine outings with an undisclosed illness. The 26-year-old's return comes just in the nick of time, as fellow blueliner Alexander Edler (finger) is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks. Larsen has four assists on the year, two of which have come on the power play, but his minus-8 rating should be a red flag for fantasy owners.

Canucks' Philip Larsen: No longer on injured reserve
Larsen (illness) is no longer listed on the team's injured reserve, per the NHL Media site. He skated alongside Nikita Tryamkin during Monday's practice session, Jon Abbot of TSN 1040 reports.
Larsen was also on the second power play unit during the session, so it's quite possible he will return to the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Minnesota Wild. He was reportedly suffering from a bacterial infection that cost him multiple weeks, but appears on the brink of full health. He's never been a huge offensive contributor at the top level, however, so his return likely won't have a big overall impact on the fantasy landscape when it does occur.

Larsen (illness) is expected to skate with his teammates in the near future, Jon Abbott of TSN 1040 reports.
Larsen has missed each of the team's last six games due to an illness, but appears to be making progress on that front. The team should officially announce a move when he's healthy and off of injured reserve. However, he's likely still a distance away considering he hasn't rejoined the team at practice yet.

Larsen may be out "a while" due to an illness, Jon Abbott of TSN 1040 reports.
Larsen has been scratched for the Canucks' last four games. It remains unclear whether Vancouver simply wanted to go with a different look at defense or Larsen was dealing with some sort of mysterious ailment, but this news seems to suggest the latter may be true. The 26-year-old blueliner's limited offensive upside caps his fantasy value in all formats, so his absence will be more detrimental to Vancouver's defensive depth than fantasy owners' lineups. However, those keeping tabs on the 2008 fifth-round pick's availability can expect another update on his status once he's ready to slot back into the Canucks' lineup.

Canucks' Philip Larsen: Records first points with new team
Larsen dished out a pair of assists in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Kings on Saturday.
The points are the first as a Canuck for Larsen, who produced at a decent clip (12 points in 30 games) with the Oilers in 2013-14 before departing for the KHL. The rearguard has a modest 33 points in 130 NHL contests spent mostly with Dallas, but piled up 61 in 108 games over the last two seasons in Russia, so there is some potential for real value here. The Canucks don't have any major scoring threats on the blue line, so Larsen will be one to watch as the season rolls on. Through five games, the Denmark native has averaged 18:06 of ice time.

Canucks' Philip Larsen: Reaches deal with Canucks
Larsen signed a one-year contract with the Canucks on Friday. The deal is worth $1.025 million.
Canucks general manager Jim Benning issued the following report on Larsen: "Philip is a skilled, right shot defenseman who can anchor a power play. He had a terrific year in the KHL last season and we look forward to him adding offence from the blue line." Larsen is a depth signing for a Canucks team that had a moderate amount of cap space heading into the Friday's signing period.

Philip Larsen: Dealt to Vancouver
The Oilers traded Larsen's rights to Vancouver in exchange for a 2017 fifth-round pick Wednesday, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Larsen hasn't played in the NHL since 2013-14, a season in which he tallied 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 30 games with the Oilers. The former fifth-round pick has spent the last two seasons in the KHL, and has played pretty well over seas, notching 61 points (17 goals, 44 assists) in 108 games. If he's interested in returning to the NHL, the 26-year-old blueliner could get an opportunity to earn a spot on the Canucks' roster in next season's training camp.
