  • Brendan Ranford: Signs one-year deal with German club

Ranford signed a one-year contract with Berlin Eisbaren of the DEL league in Germany on Friday.

Ranford -- who was Philadelphia's 2010 seventh-round (209th overall) draft pick -- ultimately latched on with the Stars organization and made his NHL debut in the 2014-15 season. However, he was limited to one game at hockey's highest level before deciding to take his talents overseas.

  • Avalanche's Brendan Ranford: Dealt to Colorado

The Coyotes traded Ranford to the Avalanche on Wednesday in exchange for Joe Whitney.

Ranford was called up from AHL Tuscon to be sent over to Colorado. He's known as a gritty forward, but scouts point out that he needs to work on his skating. This will be Ranford's third organization since hearing his name called by the Flyers with a seventh-round selection in the 2010 draft; the depth skater was just traded from the Stars exactly one month ago, and we wonder if so much shuffling has thrown off his development a bit. Ranford is a late bloomer at 24 years old -- if he blooms at all.

  • Coyotes' Brendan Ranford: Called up Wednesday

Ranford was recalled from AHL Tucson on Wednesday.

The Stars sent Ranford to the 'Yotes in a Feb. 1 trade. He's a late bloomer as a 24-year-old who had been toiling in juniors and the minor-league ranks.

  • Coyotes' Brendan Ranford: Brought in from Dallas

Ranford was acquired via trade from the Stars on Wednesday along with Branden Troock in exchange for Justin Peters and Justin Hache.

Ranford made his debut with the Stars during the 2014-15 campaign, but he hasn't suited up for an NHL game since. Through 36 games with AHL Texas this year, the winger has notched six goals and 11 helpers. The 24-year-old will likely start out in the minors with the Roadrunners, but he may get a look with the 'Yotes as they try to figure out who fits into their rebuilding efforts.

  • Stars' Brendan Ranford: Pens one-year deal with Dallas

Ranford signed a one-year contract with the Stars on Tuesday.

Ranford was recalled a handful of times during the season but never managed to crack the lineup. The 24-year-old has made just one appearance in the NHL during the 2014-15 campaign. The winger continues to impress with AHL Texas where he logged 59 points in 76 outings, which shows why the Stars were eager to lock him in for another year.

  • Stars' Brendan Ranford: Called upon by parent club Thursday

Ranford was one of four skaters recalled from AHL Texas on Thursday.

Forwards Jason Dickinson, Justin Dowling, and blueliner Julius Honka were also included in the Black Aces transaction. This is a great experience for the group of prospects, as it provides them with exposure to more established players as the Stars try to dig themselves out of a 2-1 series deficit against the Blues in the conference semifinals. Ranford only has one NHL game under his belt from the 2014-15 campaign, but he led all Baby Stars with 59 points (19 goals, 40 assists) this season.
