  • Ben Scrivens: Heads overseas on one-year deal

Scrivens signed a one-year contract with Dinamo Minsk of the KHL on Friday, TSN reports.

Scrivens appeared in 15 games with the Canadiens last season, posting a 5-8-0 record with an ugly 3.07 GAA and .906 save percentage over that span. The 29-year-old backstop will hope to perform at a higher level against slightly lesser competition in the KHL, and may have played his last NHL contest.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Clears waivers Thursday

Scrivens went unclaimed off of waivers Thursday and has been assigned to AHL St. John's, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.

Scrivens was the odd-man out when Montreal signed Charlie Lindgren. The 29-year-old spent ten games with AHL Bakersfield earlier in the 2015-16 campaign in which he posted a disappointing 2-6-1 record with a .893 save percentage. With the organization clearly looking to Lindgren as their future, the netminder could be looking for a new home next season.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Places on waivers Wednesday

Scrivens was placed on waivers by the Canadiens on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada reports.

The former Cornell standout has struggled at both the NHL and AHL levels, but has logged 15 games with the Habs this season, holding a 3.07 GAA and a .906 save percentage. With Carey Price (leg) likely returning Thursday, Scrivens has become expendable. If he clears waivers, he'll likely head to AHL St. John's for the duration of the season.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Relieves Condon

Scrivens relieved Mike Condon in Saturday night's 5-2 loss to the Rangers. He entered the game to start the third period and stopped all four shots faced.

Condon was chased after giving up five goals on 14 shots. Undoubtedly, the Canadiens have missed Carey Price this season, but their pop-gun offense makes it difficult for any goalie less than a Vezina-caliber backstop. The defense didn't play a responsible game Saturday, but overall they're middle of the pack in shots against and blocked shots, so they do a reasonable job of eliminating how much a goalie has to do. However, neither Condon nor Scrivens have been a reasonable replacement for Price.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Stops 36 in losing effort

Scrivens gave up four goals on 40 shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Detroit.

Montreal's ninth-worst defense was on display Thursday, leaving Scrivens out to dry as Detroit rained 21 shots on goal in the second period alone. The netminder has given up nine total tallies in his last two appearances, but the 29-year-old amassed 75 saves in that span, which shows he's capable of turning away attempts. However, whether it's Scrivens or any other netminder between the pipes, the Canadien defense is a mess and that won't change this season.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Thursday start on tap

Scrivens will start Thursday's road game against the Red Wings, TSN's John Lu reports.

Scrivens gave up five goals on 44 shots in Saturday's shutout loss to the Senators, so he'll look to bounce back from that rough effort Thursday against a Detroit squad that is battling to stay in the NHL playoff structure.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Pelted with pucks in loss

Scrivens made 39 saves in Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Senators.

His teammates didn't help him one little bit and they were porous while on the power play -- Scrivens faced several shorthanded rushes and allowed three goals while up a man. The Habs are a tough team to play behind; right now, we can't recommend anyone who dons the pads in that place.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Protecting net Saturday

Scrivens will be in the crease in Saturday's road game against the Senators.

Scrivens was fantastic in his last start, stopping 41 of 43 shots en route to a 3-2 overtime win over the Sabres on Wednesday. The 29-year-old netminder will look to pick up his sixth win of the season Saturday in a decent road matchup with a Senators team averaging 2.75 goals per game at home this season, 13th in the NHL.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Shines in 41-save victory Wednesday

Scrivens was fantastic Wednesday, stopping 41 of 43 shots in a 3-2 overtime win over the Sabres.

Scrivens faced a ton of rubber at the hands of the Sabres in this one, eventually coming away with the win thanks to Paul Byron's unassisted snipe in OT. Montreal doesn't have much to play for at this point other than pride, so it was nice to see Scrivens get his fifth win in a Habs sweater, especially since he's struggled with a 2.90 GAA this season.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Draws start in goal Wednesday

Scrivens will start Wednesday's game against the Sabres.

Scrivens is slated to get the nod after Mike Condon drew the start in net for the Habs in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Panthers. Scrivens, who has allowed three goals in each of his last three starts, will take aim at a Buffalo squad that will welcome top scorer Ryan O'Reilly back to the lineup after an 11-game absence.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Stops 30, earns rare victory

Scrivens turned away 30 of 33 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win against Dallas.

Scrivens earned his fourth win on the season, but the netminder has allowed three goals in his last four appearances -- on par with his 3.00 GAA in limited action this year. The 29-year-old remains a fringe option when he's called upon to defend the crease.

  • Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Protecting crease Tuesday

Scrivens will tend the twine Tuesday against the Stars, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Scrivens has starterd just once in the last month when he allowed three goals in a loss to the Kings. In total, the 29-year-old has only seen action in 10 contests on the year while posting a 3-6-0 record. It will be another tough outing for the netminder as he faces a Dallas squad that is averaging 3.18 markers per game, which means you may want to look elsewhere for a goaltender in your fantasy lineups.
