  • Zach Redmond: Heading to Europe

Redmond has agreed to a contract with Red Bull Munich in Germany's top pro league for next season, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.

The 31-year-old spent the last three seasons with Buffalo's minor-league affiliate, racking up 41 goals and 127 points across 183 AHL contests over that span. The organization will miss the veteran's leadership that he displayed since coming over in a trade from Montreal, as Redmond was a mentor to some of the Sabres' top prospects. Redmond has accumulated 38 points across 133 NHL appearances in his career.

  • Sabres' Zach Redmond: Demoted Thursday

Redmond was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Thursday.

The journeyman performed admirably upon his recall Tuesday, finishing with a plus-2 rating, one hit, and two blocked shots in just over 14 minutes of ice time, but is returning to the minors due to Nathan Beaulieu (upper body) and Josh Gorges (lower body) nearing game readiness. Redmond will remain a recall option for the Sabres throughout the season, though he shouldn't ever be given much consideration when putting together a fantasy lineup.

  • Sabres' Zach Redmond: Receives call from Buffalo

Redmond was recalled from AHL Rochester on Tuesday.

Redmond returns to the big club in the wake of several injuries to the team's defensive corps. The Texas native will look to make his third appearance of the season Tuesday night against Washington, but it may not materialize with Nathan Beaulieu (lower body) and Josh Gorges (lower body) returning to practice Tuesday, per WGR Sports Radio 550.

  • Sabres' Zach Redmond: Sent back to minors

Redmond was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Monday.

Redmond was with the big club for five games but only skated in two, going pointless but throwing six shots on net while averaging 14:37 of ice time in the two games. This likely is a signal one of Buffalo's injured defensemen is ready to come off of injured reserve.

  • Sabres' Zach Redmond: Promoted to parent club

Redmond was recalled from AHL Rochester on Saturday.

The Texas native gets his first call-up of the season in the wake of an injury to Josh Gorges (lower body), who is now on injured reserve. Redmond has never topped 59 games or 20 points in a given season, so fantasy owners should look in a different direction for help on the virtual blue line.

  • Sabres' Zach Redmond: Shipped to Buffalo

Redmond will report to Buffalo's AHL affiliate in Rochester after being acquired from Montreal in exchange for Nicolas Deslauriers on Wednesday.

Now entering his seventh professional season, Buffalo will be getting a 130-game NHL veteran that is reliable in his own end and can provide a little bit of offense, as well. Redmond will begin 2017-18 in the minors as a top-pairing defenseman for Rochester and is likely be the Sabres' first choice for a recall in the event of an injury to one of their current blueliners.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Placed on waivers

Redmond was waived by the Canadiens on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

This has been a recurring theme for Redmond given the number of defensive players ahead of him on the depth chart. If he clears waivers, the blueliner will be assigned to AHL Laval but should be on the short list for call-ups throughout the season.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Placed on waivers Monday

Redmond was put on waivers Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

The blueliner has five points in 16 games this year, but only has a single point in his last 12 games, so he has been struggling lately. If he clears waivers, he will likely be assigned to AHL St. John's.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Two assists in Saturday's laugher

Redmond had two assists, two hits and two blocked shots in 19:31 of ice time in Montreal's 10-1 win over Colorado on Saturday. The Michigan native has points in both games played since returning from a foot injury.

The game got out of hand early as the Canadiens scored six times in the first period, so third-pair defenders like Redmond and Nathan Beaulieu were given plenty of shifts. Both finished with a plus-4 rating. Redmond, who returned to availability from a foot injury earlier this week, should be active most nights as fellow Michigan native Greg Pateryn (ankle) will be out until early February.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Set for season debut

Redmond (foot) will return to the lineup against the Devils on Thursday night, Brian Wilde of CTV reports.

Both Redmond and Nathan Beaulieu (neck) will be returning for the upcoming contest, which is good timing for a Habs team that's now facing an apparent foot injury to Greg Pateryn. Of course, Redmond has yet to play a game this season, making it difficult to assess what kind of impact he'll have on the contest. He's known to be smooth on the blades and quite mobile, but hasn't drawn into more than 59 games (2014-15) or topped 20 points in a single campaign.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Out again Sunday

Redmond (foot) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game in Los Angeles.

It's still unclear when Redmond will make his Canadiens' debut, but it should be on the not-to-distant horizon. We will be sure to provide an update when the 28-year-old defenseman appears to be ready to suit up.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Unfit to return Friday

Redmond (foot) will be scratched from Friday night's game against the Sharks, NHL.com reports.

The Michigan native still hasn't drawn into a game this season, but recently completed a conditioning assignment as a key milestone in his recovery. Redmond's day-to-day label suggests he's nearing a return with his next chance to play coming against the Kings on the road Sunday.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Remains out Tuesday

Redmond (foot) is still considered day-to-day and will be watching Tuesday's matchup with Anaheim from the press box, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.

Redmond was just brought back up from a conditioning stint Monday, so he was likely a long shot to suit up so soon. The 28-year-old blueliner has yet to make an appearance for the Canadiens, but he appears to be making progress. His next opportunity to crack the lineup will be Friday against San Jose.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Practices Monday

Redmond (foot) has been recalled from his conditioning stint and participated in practice Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Redmond has yet to dress for the Canadiens this season, did tally 20 points over 59 games with the Avalanche in 2014-15. The team could receive some added depth along the blue line if he's available Tuesday, but his status should be updated when he's ready to go.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Headed for conditioning stint

Redmond (foot) was sent to AHL St. John's for conditioning Friday, TSN reports.

The conditioning stint should serve Redmond well, as the defender hasn't drawn into any games this season and is currently parked on injured reserve. Fifty-nine games is the most Redmond's every played in a single campaign through four years of service time in the NHL, and that took place as a member of the Avalanche in the 2014-15 campaign, when he dropped five goals and 15 assists.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Placed on IR

Redmond (foot) is listed on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.

Redmond sustained a broken foot in Thursday's practice and is expected to be out for six weeks. The smooth-skating defenseman hasn't played in an NHL game since April, when he was a member of the Avalanche, making this latest news item mostly an FYI to fans of the Habs.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Breaks foot in practice, out six weeks

Redmond suffered a broken foot in practice Thursday and will be out six weeks.

It's a tough break for the 28-year-old as he'll now be out until December at the earliest and could be sent back to AHL if the Canadiens decide to call up a defensive prospect in his place. Redmond, limited to bottom-pairing minutes, has yet to appear on the ice through the first three games of the 2016-17 NHL season.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Vying for job on blue line

Redmond is one of eight defensemen still in Montreal's training camp, Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports.

Redmond, who signed as a free agent in July, has been good enough during the preseason to move ahead of Mark Barberio, who was released by the Canadiens on Wednesday. Redmond is battling for the seventh and final spot on defense with 2015 first-round pick Mikhail Sergachev. If the Habs decide to have the 18-year-old Sergachev go back to the juniors, Redmond will be on the opening-night roster.

  • Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Heads to Montreal on two-year deal

Redmond signed a two-year, $1.25 million contract with the Canadiens on Friday.

Redmond drew into 37 games with the Avalanche last season, tallying six points and 22 shots on goal with a plus-5 rating over that span. The 27-year-old will compete for a bottom-pairing role with the Habs in training camp, but will likely be in and out of the lineup throughout the 2016-17 campaign as a depth defender.

  • Avalanche's Zach Redmond: Playing Wednesday

Redmond (lower body) will be in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Ducks, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.

Redmond missed practice Tuesday with a lower-body ailment, but was never in serious danger of missing Wednesday's matchup with Anaheim. Fantasy owners don't need to concern themselves with the former seventh-round pick's availability, however, as he's only notched four points (one goal, three assists) in 29 games this season.
