Zach Redmond: Heading to Europe
Redmond has agreed to a contract with Red Bull Munich in Germany's top pro league for next season, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.
The 31-year-old spent the last three seasons with Buffalo's minor-league affiliate, racking up 41 goals and 127 points across 183 AHL contests over that span. The organization will miss the veteran's leadership that he displayed since coming over in a trade from Montreal, as Redmond was a mentor to some of the Sabres' top prospects. Redmond has accumulated 38 points across 133 NHL appearances in his career.

Sabres' Zach Redmond: Demoted Thursday
Redmond was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Thursday.
The journeyman performed admirably upon his recall Tuesday, finishing with a plus-2 rating, one hit, and two blocked shots in just over 14 minutes of ice time, but is returning to the minors due to Nathan Beaulieu (upper body) and Josh Gorges (lower body) nearing game readiness. Redmond will remain a recall option for the Sabres throughout the season, though he shouldn't ever be given much consideration when putting together a fantasy lineup.

Redmond was recalled from AHL Rochester on Tuesday.
Redmond returns to the big club in the wake of several injuries to the team's defensive corps. The Texas native will look to make his third appearance of the season Tuesday night against Washington, but it may not materialize with Nathan Beaulieu (lower body) and Josh Gorges (lower body) returning to practice Tuesday, per WGR Sports Radio 550.

The Texas native gets his first call-up of the season in the wake of an injury to Josh Gorges (lower body), who is now on injured reserve. Redmond has never topped 59 games or 20 points in a given season, so fantasy owners should look in a different direction for help on the virtual blue line.

Sabres' Zach Redmond: Shipped to Buffalo
Redmond will report to Buffalo's AHL affiliate in Rochester after being acquired from Montreal in exchange for Nicolas Deslauriers on Wednesday.
Now entering his seventh professional season, Buffalo will be getting a 130-game NHL veteran that is reliable in his own end and can provide a little bit of offense, as well. Redmond will begin 2017-18 in the minors as a top-pairing defenseman for Rochester and is likely be the Sabres' first choice for a recall in the event of an injury to one of their current blueliners.

This has been a recurring theme for Redmond given the number of defensive players ahead of him on the depth chart. If he clears waivers, the blueliner will be assigned to AHL Laval but should be on the short list for call-ups throughout the season.

Canadiens' Zach Redmond: Two assists in Saturday's laugher
Redmond had two assists, two hits and two blocked shots in 19:31 of ice time in Montreal's 10-1 win over Colorado on Saturday. The Michigan native has points in both games played since returning from a foot injury.
The game got out of hand early as the Canadiens scored six times in the first period, so third-pair defenders like Redmond and Nathan Beaulieu were given plenty of shifts. Both finished with a plus-4 rating. Redmond, who returned to availability from a foot injury earlier this week, should be active most nights as fellow Michigan native Greg Pateryn (ankle) will be out until early February.

Redmond (foot) will return to the lineup against the Devils on Thursday night, Brian Wilde of CTV reports.
Both Redmond and Nathan Beaulieu (neck) will be returning for the upcoming contest, which is good timing for a Habs team that's now facing an apparent foot injury to Greg Pateryn. Of course, Redmond has yet to play a game this season, making it difficult to assess what kind of impact he'll have on the contest. He's known to be smooth on the blades and quite mobile, but hasn't drawn into more than 59 games (2014-15) or topped 20 points in a single campaign.

The conditioning stint should serve Redmond well, as the defender hasn't drawn into any games this season and is currently parked on injured reserve. Fifty-nine games is the most Redmond's every played in a single campaign through four years of service time in the NHL, and that took place as a member of the Avalanche in the 2014-15 campaign, when he dropped five goals and 15 assists.

Redmond is one of eight defensemen still in Montreal's training camp, Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Redmond, who signed as a free agent in July, has been good enough during the preseason to move ahead of Mark Barberio, who was released by the Canadiens on Wednesday. Redmond is battling for the seventh and final spot on defense with 2015 first-round pick Mikhail Sergachev. If the Habs decide to have the 18-year-old Sergachev go back to the juniors, Redmond will be on the opening-night roster.
