  • Brody Sutter: Taking talents to Finland

Sutter has signed a contract with Vaasa Sport in Finland, TSN reports.

Sutter was selected by the Hurricanes in the seventh round (193rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He made 12 appearances at the top level from 2014-16, but the winger failed to record a single point against a minus-6 rating over that span. Sutter is only 26 years old and comes from a legendary hockey family, so there's an outside chance that this isn't the last time we'll hear about the guy in the second generation of Sutters who are playing (or have played) in the NHL.

  • Jets' Brody Sutter: Reassigned to minors

Sutter was sent down to AHL Manitoba on Friday.

Sutter -- who signed a one-year deal with the Jets during the offseason -- will head back to the AHL, where he logged just 19 outings last year. The forward has suited up in 12 NHL contests with the Hurricanes, but he's still looking for his first NHL point. Unless the 25-year-old can significantly improve his scoring touch, he is unlikely to get a crack at the Jets' lineup, given the level of young talent the organization has stockpiled.

  • Panthers' Brody Sutter: Brought in via trade

Sutter was acquired by the Panthers from Carolina on Tuesday in exchange for Connor Brickley.

Sutter has played in just 12 NHL contests and is still looking for the first point in the majors. The 25-year-old will likely have to wait a little longer as he will be reassigned to AHL Springfield. It is unclear why this trade with made as the players are about the same age, play the same position, and will have roughly the same cap hit. Regardless, Sutter is a near lock to spend the bulk season in the minors and will have to really step up his game if he wants to impress his new team.

  • Hurricanes' Brody Sutter: Re-signs with Carolina

Sutter signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Canes on Thursday.

Sutter logged 13 goals and 11 helpers with AHL Charlotte last year but is still seeking his first point in the majors. Given his lack of proven ability to contribute offensively, fantasy owners will likely want to consider other depth options for their squads next season.

  • Hurricanes' Brody Sutter: Recalled from AHL

Sutter was recalled by the Hurricanes on Saturday.

Although unspecified, it's possible that Sutter is with the team on emergency conditions due to the lack of healthy forwards. The 6-foot-5, 203-pound winger owns 21 points through 64 contests with the AHL Charlotte affiliate but has averaged just 8:42 of ice time when with the parent organization. While he does accumulate hits (18), he doesn't produce enough elsewhere to be worth fantasy consideration.

  • Hurricanes' Brody Sutter: Returning to Charlotte

Sutter was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old forward didn't see much ice time in four games with the Bruins after being recalled, but made his presence felt by collecting nine hits over that span. He's now AHL-bound again, but his impact shouldn't be felt in fantasy leagues, considering he's yet to notch a point at the NHL level.

  • Hurricanes' Brody Sutter: Recalled by Hurricanes

Sutter was recalled by the Hurricanes on Sunday.

Sutter's last NHL action came in 2014-15, when he drew into four contests with the Hurricanes. He's yet to tally a point at the top level, and the 24-year-old forward will likely slot into a bottom-six role, limiting any fantasy upside again. Sutter owns just 21 points through 60 games with the AHL Charlotte affiliate this season, so there's not much reason to give him a look in fantasy.

He tallied 12 goals and 13 assists for a total of 25 points in 45 games with AHL Charlotte last season.
