Justin Fontaine: Heading to KHL
Fontaine signed a one-year deal with Dynamo Minsk (KHL) on Monday, Igor Eronko of Sport-Express reports.
Fontaine was unable to crack the lineup with either the Rangers or the Oilers last year -- instead spending the entire campaign down in the minors. While in the AHL, the University of Minnesota-Duluth product tallied 41 points in 65 outings. The 29-year-old does have some NHL experience (197 games with the Wild) so a return to the league is not out of the question -- if he can put together a solid season in Russia.

Oilers' Justin Fontaine: Sent to Edmonton at deadline
Fontaine was shipped to Edmonton for Taylor Beck by the Rangers prior to Wednesday's NHL trade deadline.
A member of the Wild organization for his entire career prior to this season, Fontaine signed on with the Rangers in October and has been plying his trade with AHL Hartford, collecting 30 points in 50 games. He could serve as a legitimate bottom-six winger for a team that has more room to utilize him; Fontaine was never going to get a chance with the Rangers except in case of a raft of injuries. Expect him to start out with AHL Bakersfield unless otherwise noted.

Rangers' Justin Fontaine: Signs two-way contract with Rangers
Fontaine signed a two-way contract with the Rangers on Sunday.
The 28-year-old wasn't much of an offensive threat last season, only scoring 16 points, so he will start out with AHL Hartford. If the Rangers need some forward depth at some point, Fontaine could be an option.

Fontaine will join the Stars on a PTO contract and is expected to play in Friday's preseason finale against the Kings.
Fontaine will have another shot at an NHL roster after he couldn't make the cut in Florida. If he can return to his 2014-15 form when he put up 31 points with the Wild, he may just be given the opportunity to make an impact in a very potent Dallas offense.

Panthers' Justin Fontaine: Dropped from PTO with Wild
Fontaine was released from his professional tryout offer with the Panthers on Friday, Harvey Fialkov of the Sun-Sentinel reports.
Now that the World Cup of Hockey is over, the training camp rosters will no longer be thin. Evidently, Fontaine, who was formerly with the Wild, did not make a lasting impression with the Panthers. Plus, he produced roughly half as many points (16) last year as he did in his second go-around with Minnesota.

Panthers' Justin Fontaine: Signs professional tryout
Fontaine agreed to terms on a professional tryout agreement with the Panthers on Thursday, Chris Johnston of Sportnet reports.
With a couple of top guys away at the World Cup of Hockey, Fontaine's signing could be as simple as needing extra bodies for training camp. Last season aside when he notched just 16 points, the winger's two previous campaigns have been decent years, 21 points in 2013-14 and 31 in 2014-15, for a perennial bottom-six player. Even if he does stick in Florida, fantasy owners won't be clamouring to get a share of the 28-year-old.

Fontaine had an assist, his ninth on the season, in Tuesday's overtime loss to Ottawa.
Fontaine had fallen out of favor of the coaching staff and was a healthy scratch for two games in early March, but he's had more than 12 minutes of ice time each of the last three games. Still, that doesn't add up to a lot of fantasy value.

Fontaine (knee) returned to practice Monday, but coach Mike Yeo indicated that he's still not game ready and isn't expected to play Wednesday.
While he's not expected to play Wednesday, the fact that he's even being discussed in that light certainly bodes well for Fontaine's recovery. He was given a four-to-six week timetable when initially suffering the injury back in late October, so a return any point this week would put him at the early end of that frame.

Wild head coach Mike Yeo said Fontaine (knee) has resumed skating and is encouraged by his progress, Michael Russo of the Star Tribune reports.
Fontaine continues to rehab from a sprained MCL, an injury he sustained in a game against the Blackhawks on Oct. 30. Assuming the recovery continues to go well, Fontaine's original 4-to-6 week timetable for a return leaves him on track to return at some point around mid-December.
