  • Anton Rodin: Signs with Swiss club

Rodin signed a contract with HC Davos of Switzerland on Saturday, TSN reports.

The Ducks placed Rodin on unconditional waivers in late September, which effectively took him off the books and rendered him an unrestricted free agent. Sadly, the Swedish Hockey League MVP (2016) dealt with significant injuries the past two seasons, and he's heading back to Europe having only played three games (with Vancouver) in the NHL.

  • Anton Rodin: Set on unconditional waivers

The Ducks placed Rodin on unconditional waivers Saturday, CapFriendly reports.

This is a familiar spot for Rodin, as the Canucks had waived him unconditionally last November, only to see him sign with HC Davos in the Swiss National League. Vancouver's second-round (53rd overall) draft pick has unfortunately struggled bouncing back from a surgically repaired knee, which is a shame since he carried so much offensive potential coming out of Sweden with Brynas IF Gavle.

  • Ducks' Anton Rodin: Returning to NHL

Rodin inked a contract with the Ducks on Sunday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.

After starting the 2017-18 campaign with AHL Utica, Rodin moved overseas in order to hopefully jump start his career. The winger made a mere eight appearances for Davos HC (NLA), but managed to tally six points. The 2009 second-round pick is slated to be a depth option with Anaheim and could find himself back in the minors if he struggles.

  • Anton Rodin: Signs overseas

Rodin agreed to terms on a contract with HC Davos of the Swiss National League on Tuesday.

The deal comes just a day after Rodin was given his unconditional release by Vancouver. While "never" might be too harsh of a word, it seems unlikely the 27-year-old will return for another shot in the NHL, instead playing closer to his hometown of Stockholm, Sweden.

  • Anton Rodin: Waived unconditionally

Rodin was placed on unconditional waivers Monday in order to release him from his contract.

After coming over from his native Sweden ahead of the 2016-17 campaign, Rodin never quite gelled with the Canucks -- partially due to injuries -- and seems prepared to return back home assuming he goes unclaimed. The winger had been sent down to AHL Utica at the start of November and with no clear path to return to the NHL, likely approached the organization about his release.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Sent down to minors

Rodin was demoted to AHL Utica on Thursday.

Rodin failed to crack the game-day lineup during this latest call-up and will now head back to the minors -- although it could be a temporary salary cap related move given the Canucks are not back in action until Saturday. Conversely, the move could also indicate one of Vancouver's injured players -- most likely Brendan Gaunce (shoulder) -- is ready to come off injured reserve.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Called up from AHL Utica

Rodin was recalled from the minors Monday.

Rodin was limited to a combined six games split between the AHL and NHL last season due to a knee injury. Now back to 100 percent, the winger notched a pair of helpers in three outings for the Comets to start the 2017-18 campaign. The 26-year-old is likely just up with Vancouver to provide some emergency depth and doesn't figure to suit up versus Dallas on Monday.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Will hit waiver wire

Rodin was waived Friday for the purpose of reassignment.

Rodin logged just six games between the NHL and AHL last season, tallying a pair of helpers. With his knee back to 100 percent, the winger undoubtedly will be disappointed as he heads back to AHL Utica, but Rodin should be on the shortlist of potential call-ups throughout the year.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Waived by Vancouver

The Canucks placed Rodin on waivers Friday.

Rodin hasn't made a meaningful impact at the NHL level since he was selected by the Canucks in the second round of the 2009 draft, so this move doesn't come as much of a surprise. If he goes unclaimed, he'll be assigned to AHL Utica, where he'll almost certainly spend the majority of the 2017-18 campaign.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Struggles in preseason debut

Rodin (knee) participated in Sunday's 9-4 exhibition home loss to the Golden Knights, finishing with a minus-1 rating, two shots on goal and a giveaway over 12:06 of ice time.

While the performance left a lot to be desired, it's great that Rodin was able to play in the first place. He underwent offseason knee surgery and a report last month suggested that he could be held out of regular-season games until he's 100 percent. The Swede has plenty of scoring potential, but given that he's only drawn into three games with the Canucks since they took him in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2009 draft, fantasy owners probably don't know what they're missing.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Likely to be eased into action

Rodin could watch regular-season games from the bench until his knee is 100 percent, the Vancouver Courier reports.

The 26-year-old flanker is coming off knee surgery, but the Canucks still have plans for Rodin in the upcoming season, as he inked a one-year, one-way extension June 30. Selected in the second round (53th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, the Swede compiled 112 points in 134 games for Brynas IF Gavle in his home country between 2013-16, though he's only appeared in three NHL contests to date. We're talking about a prolific scoring talent, albeit one who'll be difficult to trust in fantasy until he can prove that he's fully recovered from surgery and ready to play substantially at the highest level.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Signs one-year deal with Canucks

Rodin (knee) agreed to a one-year, one-way deal worth $750,000 with the Canucks on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Rodin's 2016-17 campaign was cut extremely short due to a knee injury that lingered throughout the year. The issue eventually resulted in a surgical procedure performed in early February. The Canucks owned his rights as a restricted free agent and it's not surprising that his pay will take a hit from the $950,000 he made last season -- given his lingering issues -- but he notched a point over three games played with the Canucks last year and dominated the Swedish league he played in the season prior. He'll attempt to earn a bigger payday by playing an entire season in 2017-18 and could find a top-six role with Vancouver.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Undergoes successful knee surgery Tuesday

Rodin underwent successful surgery to repair his knee Tuesday and his expected recovery time is six months.

The procedure puts an end to Rodin's injury-riddled first season in the NHL. He finishes with an assist, two shots on goal, a blocked shot and a plus-1 rating in just three games. It's unfortunate to see this happen to a promising player who was projected to make some waves this season, so here's hoping that the Swedish national can make a full recovery and return to action for the start of next season.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Lands on injured reserve

Rodin (knee) is listed on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.

As expected, Rodin has landed on injured reserve after playing just three games for Vancouver and reinjuring his knee in the process. The team has not released a timetable for the 26-year-old's return to action, but there's reason to believe he could be out for a while, especially since the Canucks will likely want to make sure his knee is completely healed this time around.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Out indefinitely with aggravated knee injury

Rodin has suffered a setback with his surgically repaired knee and consequently will undergo an MRI.

Rodin has aggravated a knee injury that he sustained prior to the beginning of this season, when he was cut by a skate. GM Jim Benning said the Canucks plan to give the rookie a combination of rest and rehab in order for him to regain strength in the knee. Selected in the second round of the 2009 draft, Rodin has only drawn into three games this season, notching a plus-1 rating with two shots and a helper in that span. He started the year on non-roster IR, and based on this rehab plan, there's reason to believe he could end up on IR once again.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Set for NHL debut Friday

Rodin will make his NHL debut Friday night against the Flames.

Rodin certainly is a player to watch, as the skilled Swede is already well known in his native country for his scoring prowess. He produced 47 goals and 65 assists in 134 games over three campaigns with Brynas IF Gavle of the Swedish Hockey League between 2013-16, but started this season on the non-roster injured reserve with a knee injury.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Recalled from conditioning stint

Rodin (knee) was recalled from his conditioning stint in AHL Utica on Thursday.

It was initially thought that Rodin would draw into Vancouver's lineup after the NHL's Christmas break, but this sudden recall signals that the team could deploy him for Friday's game in Calgary. Either way, it would appear that the 26-year-old Swede is finally healthy enough to make his Canucks debut, whether that's before or after Christmas.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Tabbed for one more AHL game

Rodin (knee) will play one more game with AHL Utica before being recalled by the Canucks, Jeff Paterson of The Province reports. He could debut for the Canucks on Dec. 28, when the team returns from the Christmas break.

Rodin hasn't played in a contest since being signed by the Canucks this offseason, but he does have an assist in two games since joining the AHL Utica affiliate. He should slot into a top-six role when the young winger is ready to go, potentially providing some spark to a lackluster offense.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Sent down for conditioning

Rodin was reassigned to AHL Utica on Sunday for a conditioning assignment.

Rodin (knee) has spent time with the Canucks this year but hasn't yet made his NHL debut. He suffered a setback with his surgically repaired knee at the end of the postseason, which was disappointing for his development given the upside he flashed with five points in five exhibition games. Nonetheless, he'll head to Utica where he'll presumably suit up soon for game action, then hopefully make his way back to Vancouver once he's back up to game speed.

  • Canucks' Anton Rodin: Closing in on return

Rodin (knee) is getting close to rejoining the lineup, Jon Abbott of TSN 1040 reports.

The 25-year-old Swede was signed to a one-year deal out of the Swedish Hockey League in the offseason after being drafted by the Canucks in 2009. Rodin tallied 37 points over 33 games with Brynas IF Gavle last season and Vancouver was willing to take a shot in the dark. His role on the team remains a bit of a mystery early, but should sort itself out when he's finally healthy and ready to play.
