  • Devils' Brian Flynn: Surfaces on waivers

Flynn was placed on waivers by the Devils on Sunday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.

Flynn failed to make the Devils' roster out of camp and will report to the team's AHL affiliate in Utica. The 33-year-old Massachusetts native is back in North America after spending the previous three seasons in the Swiss league, so it's no surprise that Flynn was unable to stick with the big club.

  • Devils' Brian Flynn: Returning to North America

Flynn signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Devils on Wednesday, per CapFriendly.

Flynn spent the last three years in the Swiss National League, including the last two seasons with HC Ambri-Piotta. He amassed 67 points in 99 contests with Ambri-Piotta, and now he'll return to North American hockey. Flynn is expected to begin 2021-22 with AHL Utica, the Devils' new farm team.

  • Brian Flynn: Hits unconditional waivers

The Blues placed Flynn on unconditional waivers Friday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

Flynn will thus have his contract terminated by the Blues, making him a free agent barring a claim from another club. The 30-year-old pivot has collected just nine points over 21 games for AHL San Antonio this season and will now be looking for work with another organization.

  • Blues' Brian Flynn: Waived by St. Louis

Flynn was waved by the Blues on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

It's never a good sign for a player's fantasy prospects when he gets waived in the middle of training camp. Flynn is no exception.

  • Blues' Brian Flynn: Secures deal with St. Louis

Flynn signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Blues on Sunday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.

Flynn didn't play an NHL game with the Stars organization last season, compiling 47 points in 66 games with AHL Texas instead. The adjustment to the Blues will likely keep him in Texas, as Flynn is expected to be relegated to AHL San Antonio.

  • Stars' Brian Flynn: Placed on waivers Tuesday

Flynn was waived by the Stars on Tuesday.

Per Mark Stepneski of the Stars' official site, Flynn was waived with the intent of being assigned to AHL Texas, but considering his history of solid bottom-six work, he could very well be claimed by another team. Either way, he's not much of a fantasy asset in most formats.

  • Stars' Brian Flynn: Signs one-year contract

Flynn agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Stars on Saturday worth $700,000, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Flynn is nothing if not consistent as he recorded 10 points in each of the past two seasons. In 51 appearances for the Canadiens last year, the center averaged 12:04 of ice time, including 1:30 on the penalty kill. The 28-year-old will likely fill a similar role in Dallas as a depth player utilized in shorthanded situations.

  • Brian Flynn: Won't be back with Montreal

Flynn will not be offered a new contract by the Canadiens.

Flynn played in just 51 contests this past season and registered a mere 10 points. After back-to-back seasons in which he played fewer than 60 games, the 28-year-old will have to look elsewhere to extend his career. Even if he can land a spot on another club -- something that is by no means a lock -- he probably won't offer much in terms of fantasy value.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Cleared to play

Flynn (upper body) is back to full health, but will be scratched from the lineup Tuesday against Dallas.

Flynn has logged just two games in the Canadiens' last 14 due to injury or as a healthy scratch, so it shouldn't be too surprising coach Claude Julien is in no rush to slot the winger back into the lineup. Given his inability to secure regular ice time even when healthy, the 28-year-old remains a low-end fantasy option.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Status not looking good Saturday

Flynn (upper body) is listed among the injured ahead of Saturday's game against the Senators, NHL.com reports.

Flynn has missed the past seven games, though it's worth noting that he's not showing on injured reserve. Of course, when looking at the game logs over the course of the season, it's difficult to differentiate when he was held out due to injury vs. the contests in which he merely watched from the press box as a healthy scratch.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Likely out again Saturday

Flynn (upper body) is projected to be an injured scratch for Saturday's game against the Senators, NHL.com reports.

It looks like the depth pivot will miss his fourth consecutive game, with the Habs continuing to fill the bottom six with Phillip Danault and Steve Ott.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Sitting again Sunday

Flynn (upper body) is a scratch for Sunday's away contest against the Oilers.

Flynn will miss his second game in a row, and the team has not given any sort of indication of when he may be able to return. Paul Byron (flu) will slot back into the lineup Sunday after missing practice earlier in the week, while Andreas Martinsen is projected to be a scratch as well.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Likely out Thursday

Coach Claude Julien indicated Wednesday that Flynn (upper body) is considered "extremely doubtful" for Thursday's game against the Flames.

Assuming Flynn misses the contest as expected, Michael McCarron would be the likely candidate to replace him in the lineup. His absence shouldn't have a large impact, however, considering neither player produces enough to warrant fantasy ownership in the majority of leagues.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Suffers upper-body injury Tuesday

Flynn left Tuesday's game against the Canucks in the first period due to an upper-body injury and will not return, Chantal Machabee of RDS.ca reports.

It's uncertain whether Flynn will be forced to miss time. Alexander Radulov (lower body) has been nursing an injury, but has made progress and might be ready to go if Flynn is out. If not, the team might need to recall a player from the AHL, or perhaps Michael McCarron will draw into the lineup until one of the injured players is ready.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Healthy scratch Sunday

Flynn was a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against the Oilers.

Flynn's gone nine straight without a point which may have played a role in him being scratched.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Hits scoresheet for first time in 2017

Flynn scored a goal and added an assist during Wednesday's win over Winnipeg.

The winger snapped a four-game point drought to start 2017 with the multi-point showing. Flynn is currently sporting a seemingly unsustainable 15.6 shooting percentage and only averaging 12:40 of ice time, so his fantasy value is extremely limited. At this stage of the game, you'll probably want to leave him to the waiver wire in most seasonal settings, and he's nothing more than a contrarian flier in daily contests.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Scores in Saturday's loss

Flynn scored a goal on five shots in 14:27 of ice time in Montreal's 4-3 overtime loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Flynn's typically a fourth-liner that finds himself on the third line due to injuries. He's averaged 11:37 of ice time since joining Montreal three seasons ago, but is up to 13:55 over the last seven games. Flynn will continue on with enhanced playing time until Andrew Shaw (concussion) is cleared to return.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Netted a pair of goals in rout versus Colorado

Flynn scored twice in a 10-1 victory over the Avalanche on Saturday.

He didn't score at all in the first 16 games he played, so fittingly, Flynn scored twice in the same game. Max Pacioretty and Flynn combined to score six of Montreal's 10 goals Saturday. Flynn has two goals and four points in 17 games this season, so he's hardly fantasy relevant.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Returns to ice Friday

Flynn returned to action Friday after missing nine games due to an upper-body injury. He had one shot in 10:47 of ice time while skating on the fourth line and penalty-kill unit in Montreal's 2-1 loss to San Jose.

Flynn was in and Daniel Carr was out against the Sharks. The 28-year-old native of Massachusetts doesn't provide much in the way off offense -- an area of the game in which the team has struggled of late -- so it wouldn't be a surprise to see a revolving door for that spot on the fourth line between Flynn and the more offensively skilled Carr.

  • Canadiens' Brian Flynn: Slated for return to action Friday

Flynn (upper body) will return to Montreal's lineup for Friday's matchup with San Jose, LNH.com's Arpon Basu reports.

Flynn's return to action will bolster the strength of the Canadiens' bottom-six forward group, but won't mean much to fantasy owners; the 28-year-old American has only tallied two assists and 11 shots on goal in 12 games this season.
