  • Jarret Stoll: Released from professional tryout

Stoll was let go from his professional tryout agreement with the Blue Jackets on Wednesday, James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail reports.

Stoll saw a significant drop in production last season -- just nine points in 80 contests -- which no doubt factored into the center being unable to secure anything more than a PTO over the summer. The young talent down the middle in Columbus had the veteran in an uphill battle a roster spot. Stoll hasn't played in the minors since 2004-05 with the Edmonton Roadrunners, but may have to pursue that route if he wants to continue his professional career. Needless to say, fantasy owners will want to look elsewhere.

  • Blue Jackets' Jarret Stoll: Returns to team following death in family

Stoll returned to the Blue Jackets training camp following a death in his family, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.

Stoll is reportedly good to go for Columbus' preseason matchup against St. Louis. The 34-year-old defender is currently signed to a professional tryout agreement and his performance in the team's upcoming preseason games could determine whether he secures an Opening Night roster spot.

  • Jarret Stoll: Will try out for Blue Jackets

Stoll will attend Blue Jackets training camp on a tryout.

After playing with the Rangers and Wild, Stoll will have a chance for his third team in two years when he tries out for Columbus. Having only put up nine points -- including four goals on 49 shots -- last year, the 34-year-old wouldn't bring top-six talent to the Jackets, but he could provide a valuable veteran locker room presence.

  • Wild's Jarret Stoll: Healthy scratch

Stoll was a healthy scratch in Sunday's loss to St. Louis.

Head coach John Torchetti said he wanted to make changes to the Wild's penalty kill where Stoll had been on the ice for 10 power-play goals in the past 15 games, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Stoll may just sit out one game while Torchetti experiments with new lineups, but it creates uncertainty about his role going forward.

  • Wild's Jarret Stoll: Scores first goal with Wild

Stoll scored his first goal as a member of the Wild in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Ducks.

It took Stoll 17 games to score his first goal with Minnesota, and it could easily take him at least as many to get his next. The fourth-line center is mostly off the fantasy radar with just five points in 46 games between the Rangers and Wild this season.

  • Wild's Jarret Stoll: Will make Wild debut Thursday

Stoll will draw into the lineup for the Wild on Thursday against his former team, the New York Rangers.

Stoll will line up on the Wild's fourth line, centering Ryan Carter and Chris Porter. Stoll should come out motivated, needing to prove himself to his new team against the team that waived him earlier this week. Nonetheless, his potential for your roster is very limited.

  • Wild's Jarret Stoll: Set for debut with Wild on Thursday

Stoll, who was claimed off waivers Tuesday, will make his Wild debut Thursday night against the Rangers, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

According to the report, Stoll will center a line that includes Chris Porter and Ryan Carter, albeit in a bottom-six role. The newcomer Stoll is an asset in the faceoff circle, having won 57.9 percent of his draws with the Rangers this season. He also had averaged 1:56 on the penalty kill with the Blueshirts, so he could be used in those situations, even though Minnesota only allowed 16 power-play goals in 29 games before his arrival.

  • Wild's Jarret Stoll: Claimed by Wild

Stoll was claimed off waivers by the Wild on Tuesday.

Although Stoll hasn't been productive offensively this season, notching just three points (one goal, two assists) in 29 games with the Rangers, he's still a highly capable faceoff specialist and a strong penalty killer. He'll likely slot in as a bottom-six center for the Wild, seeing additional ice time on the penalty kill. The veteran forward likely still won't contribute much offensively with his new team, but will fill in nicely as a depth forward.

  • Rangers' Jarret Stoll: Placed on waivers Monday

Stoll was placed on waivers Monday, Ryan Rishaug of TSN reports.

The experiment in New York appears to have ended for Stoll, who recorded just three points in 29 contests and watched Saturday's game from the press box as a healthy scratch. The former King and Oiler has looked much older than 33 years old this season, constantly struggling to get around the ice. It would be fairly surprising if another team were to claim the Stanley Cup-winning center.

  • Rangers' Jarret Stoll: Having quiet season

Stoll hasn't logged a point in 12 straight games.

No big surprise here as the veteran forward logs fourth line minutes, and is seemingly always on the bubble of watching from the press box . The first year Ranger is plus-6 with a goal and two assists through 23 games.

  • Rangers' Jarret Stoll: finds twine in win over Caps

Stoll registered his first goal of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Washington.

Of course it's the first time he's found the net with the Rangers as well. Surprisingly, the usually fourth line forward also logged 16-plus minutes, including two minutes with the special teams units. While we're not sure this trend will continue, three points in 12 games is enough to suggest Stoll should remain in your free agent pool.
