  • Dmitrij Jaskin: Returning to KHL

Jaskin (lower body) inked a one-year deal with SKA St. Petersburg on Monday. Jakin logged 12 games with the Coyotes this past year in which he garnered one assist, 23 shots and 47 hits while averaging 14:47 of ice time. With the 29-year-old winger struggling to break into the lineup with any consistency, it appears he will head back to Russia which likely will mark the end of his NHL career.

  • Coyotes' Dmitrij Jaskin: Placed on IR

Jaskin (lower body) was placed on IR on Monday. This move comes as no surprise considering Jaskin's expected to be sidelined long term. The move to IR ensures that he'll miss at least a week, but Jaskin's expected to be out far longer than that with an injury that could be season-ending.

  • Coyotes' Dmitrij Jaskin: Expected to be out long term

Jaskin (lower body) is expected to be out long term and may miss the rest of the season, Arizona Coyotes Insider Craig Morgan reports. Jaskin suffered the injury on a collision with the Predators' Mark Borowiecki on Saturday. This is a tough blow for Jaskin, who was making his return to the NHL after two years in Russia. If his season is over, the 28-year-old will finish with just one assist, 47 hits and a minus-6 rating in 12 contests. He'll likely be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

  • Coyotes' Dmitrij Jaskin: Exits Saturday's contest

Jaskin (lower body) will not return to Saturday's game against Nashville. Jaskin was in obvious pain after taking a hit to the knee from Mark Borowiecki on Saturday. The 28-year-old has just one assist through 12 games this season. An update on his status should be available before Tuesday's tilt with the Blues.

  • Coyotes' Dmitrij Jaskin: Earns first helper

Jaskin logged an assist, three shots on goal and five hits in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Wild. Jaskin went scoreless through his first 10 games as a Coyote before earning the primary assist on Andrew Ladd's first-period tally Wednesday. The 28-year-old Jaskin has added 47 hits, 23 shots on net and a minus-6 rating while often playing middle-six minutes when in the lineup. He's not guaranteed an everyday job, and the lack of offense thus far should serve as enough warning for fantasy managers to stay away.

  • Coyotes' Dmitrij Jaskin: Returning to NHL

Jaskin will sign a one-year, $3.2 million deal with the Coyotes when free agency begins on Wednesday, Arizona Coyotes Insider Craig Morgan reports. Since he last played in the NHL during the 2018-19 season, Jaskin has dominated with KHL Moscow, racking up 69 goals and 123 points over the last two seasons. Through 303 career NHL games with Washington and St. Louis, the 6-foot-2 winger scored 69 points while averaging 11:55 of ice time. Jaskin should have the opportunity to earn a top-six role with the Coyotes in training camp.

  • Dmitrij Jaskin: Re-ups with KHL club

Jaskin signed a two-year contract extension with Dynamo Moscow on Friday, Igor Eronko of Sport-Express reports. Per Eronko, Jaskin's new contract includes a release clause should he be offered an NHL deal. In 58 games for his KHL club last year, the winger racked up 31 goals and 32 helpers, which should garner him some interest from at least a couple of NHL teams. Prior to his move overseas, the 27-year-old forward appeared in 303 outings with St. Louis and Washington in which he garnered 69 points.

  • Capitals' Dmitrij Jaskin: Heading for free agency

Jaskin is not expected to be given a qualifying offer, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports. Jaskin was barely used down the stretch of 2018-19, so it is not surprising that the Capitals will allow him to move on. The 26-year-old winger posted just two goals and eight points in 37 games with the Capitals in 2018-19 but could latch onto another club as a depth forward during free agency.

  • Capitals' Dmitrij Jaskin: Waiver report redacted

Contrary to an official report from the Capitals, Jaskin has not been placed on waivers, Chris Kuc of The Athletic reports. Kuc clarifies that Devante Smith-Pelly is on waivers and not Jaskin. It's not all that surprising to see a smoke-and-mirrors effect this close to the trade deadline, but multiple media outlets have confirmed that Jaskin is not the player being waived. Nonetheless, he's not a viable fantasy option as the owner of two goals, six assists and a minus-4 rating over 36 games with the parent club.

  • Capitals' Dmitrij Jaskin: Bound for waivers

Jaskin will be waived by the Capitals on Wednesday, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports. The Capitals must waive Jaskin in order for the physical, bottom-six winger to be sent to AHL Hershey -- assuming he clears. Jaskin simply isn't getting enough rink run for the defending Stanley Cup champions, as he's drawn into 36 of 60 games this season and averaging only 10:06 of ice time. Of course, this may be a precursor to a large move ahead of the NHL's trade deadline.

  • Capitals' Dmitrij Jaskin: Lights lamp Friday

Jaskin registered a goal, four hits, four shots and three blocked shots during Friday's 4-3 victory over the Flames. The marker gives Jaskin two goals and eight points in 31 games in his debut season with the Capitals. The second-round pick of the Blues from the 2011 NHL Entry Draft has his moments, but does not garner consistent playing time to give him much fantasy value,

  • Capitals' Dmitrij Jaskin: Returning to face old team

Jaskin will be in the lineup Thursday against the Blues, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports. Jaskin has been a healthy scratch for the previous five games, but with a back-to-back set on the road upcoming, head coach Todd Reirden has elected to give him a sweater in St. Louis, where the 25-year-old Russian spent his first six NHL seasons. The second-round pick from the 2011 NHL Entry Draft has managed just one goal and seven points in 26 games and has extremely limited fantasy value until he earns more consistent playing time.

  • Capitals' Dmitrij Jaskin: Dishes two helpers Sunday

Jaskin tallied two assists and a plus-2 rating during Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Ducks. Jaskin has three helpers in his last three games, but his ice time is in jeopardy once T.J. Oshie (head) is able to return to the lineup. The rugged Russian has provided much-needed depth for the Capitals since being acquired off waivers from the Blues back in October but lacks much fantasy value outside of the deepest of leagues.

  • Capitals' Dmitrij Jaskin: Dishes helper Monday

Jaskin tallied an assist, two shots and three hits during Monday's 4-1 win over the Islanders. The assist gives Jaskin three points in 18 games in his inaugural season with the Capitals. The 25-year-old winger's blend of physical prowess and offensive talents are of great value to the Caps, but the lack of production and consistent ice time significantly restrict his fantasy value.

  • Capitals' Dmitrij Jaskin: Promoted to top line

Jaskin skated alongside Evgeny Kunzetsov and Alex Ovechkin during Monday's morning skate, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports. The Capitals continue to search for a short-term solution on the top line while Tom Wilson (suspension) remains out of the lineup, and Jaskin's strong play in Saturday's losing effort to the Stars has earned him a shot with the top unit. Needless to say, the 25-year-old's fantasy value just got a gigantic boost and while the assignment may be short-lived, the second-round pick from the 2011 NHL Entry Draft is fantasy relevant across the board as long as he's in such a prominent role -- especially in tonight's daily formats where his price tag is likely to be quite low.

  • Capitals' Dmitrij Jaskin: Set to make Capitals debut Wednesday

Head coach Todd Reirden indicated Jaskin will be in the lineup Wednesday against the Golden Knights, JJ Regan of NBC Sports Washington reports. With the Caps playing three games over a four-night period, it seems as good a time as any to get Jaskin, acquired from waivers from St. Louis on Oct. 2, so minutes. The suspension to Tom Wilson opens the door for the 25-year-old winger to carve out some mild fantasy value in deeper formats if he can climb the depth chart, but a wait and see approach is advised in the interim.

  • Capitals' Dmitrij Jaskin: Scooped up by Caps

The Capitals claimed Jaskin off waivers (via the Blues) on Tuesday. Most players sent to the waiver wire end up with the minor-league affiliate associated with said team, but every now and then, a player like Jaskin will get scooped up by another club. The Russian plays a physical brand of hockey, though he's still looking for his first 20-point season and a chance to play in the top six.

  • Blues' Dmitrij Jaskin: Has two goals in preseason

Jaskin has two goals and four PIM through three preseason games. Barring injury, Jaskin's ceiling this season is a fourth-line role, but his physicality combined with formidable offensive play could make him a lock to secure a spot. Jaskin led the team with 207 hits last season and still notched 17 points in 76 games. With 266 NHL games under his belt, he could add a veteran presence to a line that the Blues will likely place rookie Robert Thomas on.

  • Blues' Dmitrij Jaskin: Tendered by Blues

Jaskin was extended a qualifying offer by the Blues on Sunday, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Jaskin has yet to live up to the expectations laid out when he was drafted in the second round of the 2011 NHL Draft. The Russian winger has stayed under 20 points in each of the last four seasons. Jaskin also played more than 65 games for the first time in 2017-18 when he suited up 76 times. Instead, Jaskin is more of a role player, and he's starting to fill that mold. The 25-year-old dished out 207 hits last season while racking up just 14 PIM. Another cheap contract will likely keep Jaskin in The Lou for another season.

  • Blues' Dmitrij Jaskin: Puts up first 200-hit season

Jaskin compiled 17 points, 124 shots on goal and 207 hits in 76 games. Jaskin can't seem to break out of his bottom-six role, and the 25-year-old hasn't eclipsed the 20-point mark, despite playing over 50 games in each of the last four seasons. More or less, Jaskin was a lineup fixture due to the large amount of injuries to Blues' forwards, and it'll be interesting to see what's in his future since he's set to be a restricted free agent this summer.
