The Canucks didn't send Laplante a qualifying offer Tuesday.
Laplante hasn't appeared in a professional hockey game since he drew into five contests with AHL Utica in 2017-18, so although it hasn't been officially announced, it appears as though the 2013 third-round pick may have already hung up his skates for good.

Canucks' Yan Pavel Laplante: Promoted to top club
Laplante was recalled from ECHL Alaska on Sunday.
Laplante's recall could indicate that all of the injured players for Vancouver will sit out of the season finale, potentially opening up a spot for him to make his NHL debut. A third-round pick in 2013, the 21-year-old has notched 20 points over 38 games in the ECHL this season, but shouldn't be much of a factor from a fantasy standpoint.

Canucks' Yan Pavel Laplante: Signs three-year deal with Canucks
Laplante signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Canucks on Monday.
Laplante played in 63 regular season games for the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL this year where he recorded 34 goals, 31 assists, and 65 points. He was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the third round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
