Beecher had just one goal over his last 10 contests during the regular season. The 23-year-old was briefly assigned to AHL Providence following the Bruins' penultimate regular-season game, but he was recalled to play in a fourth-line role once more to begin the playoffs. He had 10 points, 112 hits and 38 shots on net over 52 appearances as a rookie this year, but there's always a risk he could sit for a more veteran forward if his play is underwhelming in the postseason.

Bruins' John Beecher: Back in NHL
Beecher was promoted from AHL Providence on Friday.
Beecher played in 52 games with Boston during the regular season, scoring seven times while adding three helpers. The 23-year-old, who was selected 30th overall in the 2019 Draft, chipped in with 112 hits and 34 blocked shots in his rookie campaign. He could get into the lineup in a bottom-six role at some point during the playoffs .

Beecher will switch spots with Jayson Megna, who was recalled in a corresponding move. This may be a temporary change -- it wouldn't be surprising to see Beecher, who's picked up 10 points and 112 hits through 52 top-level contests this season, back with the Bruins for the playoffs.
