Sandstrom was sent to AHL Lehigh Valley on Friday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Russian netminder Ivan Fedotov joined the Flyers from the KHL on Friday, so the team sent Sandstrom to the minors in a corresponding move. Sandstrom was 1-2-0 with a 3.88 GAA and a very weak .823 save percentage in five appearances with the Flyers this season.... See More ... See Less

Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Falls to Panthers
Sandstrom allowed three goals on 14 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to Florida. It was a tough outing for Sandstrom despite facing only 15 shots, as he allowed a goal in each period en route to the loss. The 27-year-old Sandstrom has struggled since he was recalled in early March to back up Samuel Ersson -- he falls to 1-2-0 with an ugly .823 save percentage and 3.87 GAA. The Flyers will look to bounce back Tuesday in a road matchup with the Rangers.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Guarding goal Sunday
Sandstrom will protect the home crease Sunday against Florida. Sandstrom will get the second half of Philadelphia's back-to-back after Samuel Ersson played in Saturday's 3-2 win over Boston. The 27-year-old Sandstrom has permitted 14 goals on 82 shots en route to a 1-1-0 record in four NHL outings this campaign. The Panthers rank 13th in the league this season with 3.21 goals per contest.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Queasy third period leads to loss
Sandstrom made 24 saves in a 6-5 loss to Boston on Saturday. The game was tied 2-2 going into the third period, but the floodgates opened for both teams in the final frame. Sandstrom surrendered three even-strength goals in the span of just under three minutes early in the third, and Boston never trailed from that point forward. He has allowed 14 goals in four appearances (two starts). Sandstrom can't be trusted in your net at this point.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Starting in Boston
Sandstrom will guard the road cage Saturday against the Bruins, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports. Sandstrom has just one start and three appearances while backing up Samuel Ersson this season. He's gone 1-0-0 with an .846 save percentage and 3.22 GAA. The 27-year-old Sandstrom will have a tough assignment Saturday versus a Boston team averaging 3.26 goals per game.... See More ... Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Thrown into fire against Bolts
Sandstrom allowed three goals on 11 shots in "relief" as part of Saturday's 7-0 loss to the Lightning. Sandstrom replaced Samuel Ersson after the latter was blitzed with 15 shots and four goals against in the first period. This was only the second top-level performance of the season for Sandstrom, who earned another look after a win over Ottawa on March 2. Sandstrom wasn't able to stop the bleeding versus the Bolts, but he likely gets a free pass given that it was a total team meltdown and the final goal took place with the Flyers shorthanded.... Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Wins season debut
Sandstrom made 24 saves in a 4-2 win over the Senators on Saturday. It was Sandstrom's NHL season debut. Vladimir Tarasenko beat him on a backhand from the right circle on a 2-on-1 rush early in the second, and Thomas Chabot scored on a one-timer from the bottom of the right circle at 18:02 of the third with his team's net empty. Sandstrom hasn't had a great year in the AHL, but he was sharp when he needed to be Saturday. He struggled in the backup role with the Flyers in 2022-23, going 3-12-3 in 18 starts (20 appearances) and delivering a 3.72 GAA and an .880 save percentage. Leave Sandstrom on the wire until he proves this year is different.... See More ... See Less -

In 2023-24, the 27-year-old has posted a 3.23 GAA and an .882 save percentage in 20 AHL appearances. Sandstrom has been average at the AHL level this season, going 11-6-2 with a 3.23 GAA and an .882 save percentage. The Flyers play back-to-back games Friday in Washington and Saturday at home versus Ottawa, so Sandstrom could get one of those starts.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Summoned Thursday
Sandstrom was called up by Philadelphia on Thursday. Sandstrom's promotion was sparked by Carter Hart being unavailable for Thursday's home contest against Washington due to an illness. Samuel Ersson is expected to get the start while Sandstrom, who has a 3.32 GAA and an .871 save percentage in six contests with AHL Lehigh Valley, should serve as the backup.... See More ... Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Hits waivers
Sandstrom (upper body) was activated from injured reserve and placed on waivers Sunday. Sandstrom was injured during the second game of his AHL conditioning loan against Hartford on Nov. 3. If he clears, he will probably report back to Lehigh Valley. Sandstrom hasn't seen any playing time with the Flyers this season after appearing in 20 contests with the big club during the 2022-23 campaign.... See More ... See Less -

Sandstrom was beaten twice by Chicago in the first period and surrendered a goal in each of the second and third frames. He has allowed at least four goals in four of his last five contests, but unlike the other four games in that span, Sandstrom came out with the win Thursday. With Philadelphia's campaign over, Sandstrom will finish the season with a 3-12-3 record, 3.72 GAA and .880 save percentage in 20 outings.... See More ... See Less -

Sandstrom kicked out 29 of 34 shots in a 5-3 loss to Boston on Sunday. This is the third straight start in which Sandstrom has allowed at least five goals. He's fallen to 2-12-3 with a 3.72 GAA and an .879 save percentage in 19 outings this season. With just two contests left on Philadelphia's schedule, it wouldn't be shocking if this was Sandstrom's last start of the campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Surrenders goal on three shots
Sandstrom stopped two of three shots in relief in the Flyers' 4-0 loss to the Islanders on Saturday. Sandstrom was in the net for the start of the third period, replacing Carter Hart, who allowed three goals on 18 shots. Sandstrom wasn't charged with the loss Saturday, but he did surrender a goal to Hudson Fasching late in the final frame. The 26-year-old is 2-11-3 with a 3.63 GAA and an .881 save percentage in 18 outings this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flyers' Felix Sandstrom: Six goals go past in loss
Sandstrom made 23 saves in a 6-3 loss to Buffalo on Saturday. The Flyers let the game get away from them -- they didn't clear rebounds well, leaving Sandstrom high and dry too many times.
