  • Tim Jackman: Retires from NHL

Jackman will return to school, putting an end to his 12-year NHL career, Shane Frederick of the Mankato Free Press reports.

Jackman saw action in just two contests for Anaheim during the 2015-16 campaign for which he went minus-2 and registered four PIM. After a two-year collegiate career for Minnesota State, the winger went on to play in 483 games while logging 32 goals and 43 helpers. Selected in the second round of the 2001 NHL Draft, the 34-year-old was the definition of a journeyman and grinder who had to work relentlessly each season to prove his worth.

Jackman was traded to the Blackhawks -- along with a 2017 seventh-round pick -- on Monday in exchange for forward Corey Tropp.

Jackman, a 13-year veteran, will be an unrestricted free agent this summer but the physical winger was off the books for Anaheim anyhow, as he was waived last November after appearing in just two contests. There's nothing to look at here as it pertains to fantasy hockey.
