Capitals' Dan Ellis: Sent to AHL Hershey
Ellis was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Thursday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Ellis was recalled due to precautionary reasons, but did not dress for Wednesday's Game 4 in Philadelphia. The 35-year-old netminder appeared in 43 games with the Caps' developmental affiliate, earning a 2.38 GAA and .908 save percentage, and is likely to play in the AHL playoffs in Portland on Thursday night.

Capitals' Dan Ellis: Up with the big club
Ellis is listed on the NHL roster, but will not dress for Wednesday's Game 4 in Philadelphia, Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Post reports.
After starter Braden Holtby left Tuesday's practice early, Ellis' recall is likely for precautionary reasons. The 35-year-old veteran appeared 43 games with the Caps' AHL affiliate in Hershey, posting a 2.38 GAA and .908 save percentage.
