Coyotes' Dave Bolland: May be forced to hang up skates for good
Bolland (back, ankle) has likely played his final game, Sportsnet reports. "He's working towards trying to (play), but again injuries are what they are. He's been trying to comeback from that injury for the last nine months and he hasn't gotten to the stage where he can do that to be cleared," said agent Anton Thun. "His goal is to try to continue to play, but at some point in time, it may just be not happening. He may never play again."
Bolland, a two-time Stanley Cup champion, was dealt to Arizona in late August for a pair of future draft picks. The veteran pivot has five years left on his contract at an average annual value of $5.5 million, but the 'Yotes were willing to absorb that bad contract to reach the cap floor. Also, with Bolland expected to go on long-term injured reserve after failing a physical before training camp, it will ultimately help the club with cap savings if its total payroll starts to exceed the upper limit of $73 million.

Coyotes' Dave Bolland: Heading for long-term IR
Bolland (lower body) failed his training camp physical and will be placed on long-term injured reserve, Craig Morgan of AZ Sports reports.
Bolland was not expected to be ready to go for the start of the season and his contract with shipped to the Coyotes to ensure they would reach the salary cap floor. It's possible the 30-year-old will be on LTIR until his contract runs out following the 2018-19 season. Fantasy owners will want to avoid the center for now until a more definitive answer comes out surrounding his future.

Coyotes' Dave Bolland: Shipped off to Arizona
Bolland (lower body) was traded to the Coyotes from the Panthers along with Lawson Crouse in exchange for a 2017 third round pick and a 2018 second round pick Thursday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.
With Bolland's future still up in the air considering he played in just 25 games last campaign, this is essentially a salary dump by the Panthers who will save $5.5 million per year over the next three years. Assuming he is healthy enough to return, fantasy owners may want to avoid the center as he has seen action in less than 55 contests in each of the previous four seasons.

Panthers' Dave Bolland: Placed on injured reserve
Bolland (lower body) was officially placed on injured reserve by the Panthers on Sunday.
Having not played since before Christmas, it apparently takes the addition of multiple players for the Panthers to finally give in and move the veteran to injured reserve. He's eligible to return when healthy, but Bolland's timetable remains indefinite at this point.

Panthers' Dave Bolland: Out through All-Star break
Bolland (lower body) will sit through the All-Star break, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
With the All-Star break scheduled Jan. 30-31, the news essentially rules him out through the end of the month. His next chance to return would then come Feb. 2 against the Capitals, but more on his situation should come to light as he progresses in his recovery.

Panthers' Dave Bolland: Out again Tuesday
Bolland (lower body) won't play Tuesday against the Panthers, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
The Panthers have won six-consecutive games during Bolland's most-recent absence, so it's hardly surprising that the 29-year-old forward will serve as a scratch for Tuesday's tilt. His next chance to return to Florida's lineup will come Saturday against the Rangers, but it's hard to imagine a scenario where the Panthers opt to shake up their lines given their recent success.

Panthers' Dave Bolland: Recalled from conditioning stint, out Tuesday
Bollan (illness) has been recalled from his conditioning stint, but won't play Tuesday against the Senators, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Bolland was placed on injured reserve due to a bug that had been going around the locker room, but it appears the issue is nearly behind him. He will rest through the break, but it wouldn't be surprising if he rejoins the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jackets.

Panthers' Dave Bolland: Assigned to minors for conditioning
Bolland (illness) has been sent to AHL Portland on a conditioning assignment, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Bolland wasn't available for practice Monday due to an illness, so the conditioning stint will afford him a chance to get back into playing shape. Bolland is really struggling this season, as he only has five points in 25 games and that comes with a shooting percentage of 3.8, which is by far the worst mark for the skater in his ninth year. Making matters worse, Bolland is average 14:06 of ice time, more than two minutes less than he had last year (16:21).

There appears to be a bug going around in the lockerroom, as Bolland was one of four Panthers held out of practice with an illness. His status for Tuesday's tilt against the Islanders remains up in the air as a result.

Bolland has four assists but just one goal in 18 games this season. The trouble with Bolland is that he's hardly getting any shots to fall based on a career-worst shooting percentage of 4.2 in 2015-16.

Panthers' Dave Bolland: Will return Tuesday
Bolland (hand) will return to the lineup Tuesday against the Flames, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Bolland missed the last two contests because of the injury, but he'll once again take the ice for Tuesday's contest. The veteran center has posted four points through 12 games thus far, and will look to add to that total against a Flames squad surrendering the most goals per game (3.87) so far this season.

Bolland (hand) will not play in Saturday's game against the Kings, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Bolland will now miss back-to-back games with a hand injury he suffered in Wednesday's tilt against the Ducks. He was able to practice Friday, and was a true game-time decision Saturday, so it seems as though Bolland is likely on the brink of returning to action. His next chance to draw back into the Panthers' lineup will come Tuesday against Calgary.
