American men have not won an Olympic gold medal in boxing since 2004. When Shakur Stevenson qualified earlier this year, Team USA thought they had a chance to end that run.
But in order to do so, he'll have to get by a 2012 gold medalist and favorite to repeat in 2016: Cuba's Robeisy Ramirez.
"I think it's about to be a great matchup," Stevenson said per the Associated Press. "We've got the 2012 Olympic gold medalist from Cuba, great fighter. You've got the up-and-coming rising superstar from the USA, and we're about to put on a show. We're ready to turn this place out."
It all gets started early on Saturday. Here's what you need to know for the matchup.
