TROY, Ala. (AP) Jordon Varnado hit 10 of 12 field goals to total a career-high 27 points to lead Troy to a dominating 88-59 victory over Alabama A&M on Saturday.

Varnado also grabbed five rebounds and blocked two shots. Jeremy Hollimon was 6 of 10 from the floor, making 3 of 4 from distance, for 18 points and Juan Davis Jr. added 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Trojans (5-4).

Troy jumped out to a 39-17 advantage to start the game and held a 48-24 halftime lead. The Trojans, who nailed 8 of 15 from beyond the arc in the first half, made 13 of 30 (43.3 percent) for the game. They shot 33 of 69 from the floor while limiting the Bulldogs to 18-of-56 shooting.

Alabama A&M is still looking for its first win of the season, falling to 0-7. Tracy Burnett led the Bulldogs with 12 points.
