FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Five-star tailback Alex Collins is expected to sign his letter-of-intent with Arkansas on Thursday afternoon. a person with knowledge of the situation told CBSSports.com.

A press release from the Broward County Public Schools said that Collins would be announcing his decision at 1:30 p.m. ET. It can be seen live here.

Collins was a no-show at his signing ceremony on Wednesday morning during national signing day. According to a report, Collins' mother took his letter which requires a signature from both the player and a parent/guardian.

Collins is considered the centerpiece of coach Bret Bielema's first signing class with the Hogs. Without Collins, Razorbacks still came out of Wendesday ranked 22nd nationally by 247Sports.com.

Collins was the Broward County (Fla.) player of the year as a junior in 2011. He had originally committed to Miami before committing to Wisconsin, then apparently following Bielema to Arkansas.
