With the number of sexual and physical assault stories in the news, it's good to know there are people who still how to do the right thing when they encounter those types of situations. And it's not that hard, either.

According to First Coast News, Florida linebacker Cristian Garcia helped stop a sexual assault in action behind a bar early Thursday morning. Per the report, Garcia, who works security behind the 101 Cantina in Gainesvile, saw a man raping a barely conscious woman behind the establishment.

"The girl was basically unconscious, so I knew there was no way she could be giving consent," Garcia told the news outlet. Garcia said he went up to the man, 34-year-old Christopher Shaw, and told him to stop. A brief altercation occurred before Garcia ran off. Shaw has since been arrested on sexual battery charges.

Garcia added that the man's friends were watching the rape occur, but were doing nothing.

A walk-on in 2015, Garcia appeared in one game last year.
