Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel told at least one Aggies coach that he shouldn't have tweeted over the weekend that he "can't wait to leave College Station ... whenever it may be," according to a source.

A coach approached Manziel to make sure that everything was OK and that Manziel understands the strength of his words, according to the source.

Manziel, who in March said he was leaving Twitter for awhile, sent the tweet early Sunday morning but deleted it and followed up with, "Don't ever forget that I love A&M with all of my heart, but please please walk a day in my shoes."

Living under the microscope at age 20 can't always be easy, and every college student should have space to grow personally and say what they please. But after making headlines this offseason for everything from Rick Ross hangouts to online classes, maybe the team could recycle this Ron Burgundy message: Sit the next couple of plays out this offseason.

By the way, is it Aug. 31 yet?
