Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner's season is over due to a broken left foot, CBSSports.com's Bruce Feldman has learned. Gardner broke the foot on Michigan's second drive in the third quarter against arch-rival Ohio State, according to a source.
Brady Hoke announced during his press conference on Thursday that Shane Morris will start for the Wolverines.
A true freshman, Morris has appeared in only parts of two games for Michigan this season. He's completed five of his nine pass attempts for 65 yards and an interception against Central Michigan and Michigan State.
As for Gardner's foot injury, the fact he suffered the injury during Michigan's second drive of the third quarter means that Gardner led the Wolverines on three touchdown drives in the fourth quarter with a broken foot. In other words, Devin Gardner is tougher than you and I.
Devin Gardner had 3,443 total yards and 32 total touchdowns for the Wolverines this season.
