Oklahoma quarterback Kendal Thompson was arrested for public intoxication early Friday morning in Norman, Oklahoma.

According to the police report, via SoonerScoop.com, police were responding to a loud party complaint when an officer found Thompson sleeping on a hill. The officer tried to wake Thompson and smelled alcohol on his breath.

"As I was speaking with him, he was not making sense with incomplete sentences and was becoming harder to understand him," said officer Steven Boxford in the affidavit.

Boxford goes on to report that Thompson would not obey his commands, which also led to Thompson being hit with an interference charge as well.

Now, Thompson is 20 years old, and a college kid being out drinking isn't exactly a big deal. It's generally what college kids do. However, Thompson is one of three Oklahoma quarterbacks currently competing for the starting job next season. While we can't be sure this will hurt his chances in that competition -- Blake Bell is the favorite to win the job -- it certainly isn't going to help.

An Oklahoma spokesperson told SoonerScoop.com that Bob Stoops was aware of Thompson's arrest and that he'll "handle the matter internally."

Thompson is the son of former Oklahoma quarterback Charles Thompson.
