Marcus Baugh's difficult beginning to his Ohio State career has gotten only more difficult.
Per the Cleveland Plain-Dealer and other outlets, court records show the redshirt freshman tight end from Riverside, Calif. was charged with underage drinking, a first-degree misdemeanor, Jan. 17 in Columbus.
The charge is Baugh's second for the same offense in less than year, after he was booked and subsequently pled guilty to underage drinking (and carrying a fake ID) last July. That incident led to a one-game suspension for the Buckeyes' 2013 opener against Buffalo and his removal from "all team activities" over the summer.
Eleven Warriors is reporting that Baugh has now been suspended indefinitely after the latest charge. An Ohio State spokesperson told the site he was not aware of the current incident.
Baugh arrived in Columbus as one of the top prizes of Urban Meyer's 2013 recruiting class, ranking as a top-100 overall prospect and one of the top five tight ends in his class. After the suspension, he was redshirted with an eye towards making an impact in 2014.
With the Buckeyes potentially struggling to meet their NCAA-mandated limit of 82 scholarship players, the Plain-Dealer writes that "it's reasonable to believe Baugh's future at Ohio State may be in question."
