USC apologizes for calling Vols signee Jalen Hurd 'soft and terrible'
An Instagram video from the USC athletic department on National Signing Day includes audio of an unnamed USC staffer criticizing Tennessee running back Jalen Hurd.
The video, which has since been removed, was part of a signing day tracker. As Lamont Simmons was added to the Trojans' board, a USC coach or staffer can be heard off-camera describing five-star running back Jalen Hurd as "so soft and terrible."

A copy of the video did make it to YouTube, with the quote being attributed to USC assistant Tee Martin. The former Tennessee quarterback has not confirmed or denied that the voice on video was his, but Martin did tell Tennessee Sports Radio that he "never had any dealings with Jalen Hurd, and wish him nothing but the best at Tennessee."
