EASTON, Pa. (AP) - Seth Hinrichs scored 24 points, hitting five of Lafayette's 10 3-pointers, as the Leopards shut down Colgate 69-40 Wednesday night for their third straight win.
Leading 20-17 at the 7:36 mark, Lafayette (11-12, 4-2 Patriot League) held the Raiders scoreless the rest of the half en route to a 35-17 lead. Joey Ptasinski scored 10 of his 12 points in the first half for the Leopards.
Colgate (8-14, 2-4) posted its lowest point total since a 62-37 loss to TCU on Dec. 30, 2008, and saw its two-game winning streak end.
Dan Trist added 12 points for Lafayette, which shot 50 percent (25 of 50) and hit 10 of 22 from deep, with Hinrichs going 5 for 7. Tony Johnson dished out eight assists and Levi Giese had four blocked shots
Matt McMullen's 10 points led the Raiders. Leading scorer Murphy Burnatowski scored only three points, 15 off his average.
