Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal picked up his 44th save of the season Tuesday in the win over Milwaukee, allowing a hit and striking out a pair.
Rosenthal now has 44 saves on the season, the fifth highest total in Cardinals' history. He needs four more over the final few weeks to grab the top spot. His secondary numbers (252 ERA+) all support that his 2015 season has likely been the best of any closer in Cardinals' history.
Most promising is that Rosenthal is just 25 years old.
