Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal secured his 48th save in Monday's 3-0 victory over the Pirates, giving up one hit while walking and striking out a batter apiece in a scoreless inning.
Rosenthal's save wasn't without its share of tension, as the closer began the frame by walking Andrew McCutchen and giving up a single to Starling Marte. The 25-year-old would settle down, however, retiring each of the next three batters to end the game. Rosenthal appears to be back on track following a disastrous four-run outing against the Brewers this past weekend.
