Mets recall Danny Muno as Erik Goeddel lands on DL

The Mets placed reliever Erik Goeddel on the 15-day disabled list Friday due to a right elbow strain. To take his roster spot, infielder Danny Muno was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Goeddel tossed a scoreless eighth inning during a 5-4 win Thursday against the Giants. He has been an extremely effective reliever for New York in 2015, posting a 1.96 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 22 relief outings. He also has 23 strikeouts in 23 innings.

Muno has appeared in 11 games for the Mets, batting .100 (2 for 20) with no extra-base hits, no RBI, one stolen bases, two walks and nine strikeouts.
