The MRI on Nationals reliever Craig Stammen's right arm revealed a torn flexor tendon, manager Matt Williams said Thursday. Stammen will undergo surgery and likely be out for the season.

There is no date set for the surgery, and the timetable for his recovery will be decided on the extent of the tear.

Stammen has allowed two hits and three walks, while recording three strikeouts in four innings this season.
