Orioles pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) will face live hitters Wednesday and could start over the weekend against the Red Sox, Dan Connolly of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Nothing has officially been decided yet, but if all goes well in Wednesday's session, Gonzalez should be ready to rejoin the big league club. If he's able to pitch in the Red Sox series, the 31-year-old should be lined up for another start after that before the end of the season.
