Rangers starter Derek Holland was terrific against the Angels on Saturday. The left-hander tossed eight strong innings, allowing just one run on three hits. He walked two and struck out five, earning his third win of the season in the 2-1 victory.

Holland (3-1, 2.37 ERA) gave up his lone run of the game in the very first inning, matching Jered Weaver pitch-for-pitch the rest of the way. But the Rangers were able to scratch across the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, and held on for the win.

Holland has been excellent in his five starts this season. But his last two outings have been superb, during which he has allowed one run over 17 innings of work.
