The Cubs have reportedly signed right-hander Trevor Cahill to a minor-league contract on Wednesday. Cahill became a free agent when he opted out of his deal with the Dodgers earlier this month.

Cahill started the season with the Braves and went 0-3 with a 7.52 ERA over 15 appearances (three starts) before being dealt. He did not pitch in the big-leagues with the Dodgers.

The veteran right-hander will report to Triple-A Iowa.
