Yankees starting pitcher prospect Rafael De Paula struck out a season-high 12 batters Friday, as he won a third straight start for Class A Charleston. The right-handed pitcher has managed at least 10 strikeouts in three of his first seven starts and hasn't had less than five strikeouts in a start.

DePaula improved to 3-2 with a 2.70 ERA and .178 opponents' batting average. He's managed 58 strikeouts to 16 walks in 33 1/3 innings. He's allowed one home run, 10 runs and 21 hits.

The non-drafted free agent is considered the Yankees' 10th-best prospect by Baseball America.
