Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (4-3) held the Rays to one run on six hits and a walk in 5 2/3 innings Wednesday. He struck out seven in a 3-1 win.

The rookie's most recent start -- a six-run disaster against the Blue Jays -- represented his first step back of the year, but he recovered in impressive fashion, displaying stronger control than we'd seen from him over his last several outings. Severino had issued at least three walks in five consecutive starts, and though he'd mostly navigated around those extra baserunners, that luck only holds for so long.

With a strikeout per inning and results that have been pretty consistent, the 21-year-old is showing a ton of promise for the future, and he can help Fantasy teams right now as well.
