Eddie was waived Friday by the Wizards, Shams Charnia of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Eddie's decision in July to push back the guaranteed date on his contract for the 2016-17 season may have ended up costing him his roster spot, as the team ended up letting the shooting guard go Friday without any financial ramifications after he was outplayed by undrafted rookies Sheldon McClellan and Danuel House in training camp. If no other team scoops Eddie off of waivers prior to the season, he'll likely try his luck in the D-League in an attempt to earn a call-up back to the NBA.
