Hornsby was waived by the Mavericks on Saturday, Earl Sneed of the Mavericks' official site reports.
Hornsby played in five games this preseason, averaging 3.2 points and 1.4 rebounds per game while shooting 28-percent from the floor. The undrafted rookie always faced an uphill battle while attempting to crack Mavericks' 15-man roster, as they already boast a fairly deep backcourt.
