Payton provided 13 points (6-11 FG, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 22 minutes in Thursday's 122-92 loss to the Warriors.

The starting five all saw 25 minutes or less in the blowout defeat, so Payton's downturn in production must be framed firmly within that context. The third-year guard has posted six double-digit scoring efforts in the last eight contests as well and is playing some of the best ball of his career at present, with a favorable matchup and potential bounce-back against the Suns on tap Friday.
