Layman is dealing with a left shoulder injury, but expects to return to full practices by next week, Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports.
The injury has prevented Layman from taking part in training camp thus far and could result in him missing a few preseason contests, but his roster spot doesn't appear to be in any danger, as his contract for 2016-17 is fully guaranteed. The second-round pick out of Maryland figures to be buried on the Blazers' depth chart throughout the season, however, so he could end up spending significant time in the D-League.
